It's an amazing feeling to win back-to back trophies. Especially seeing as this is the first time I have witnessed ourselves do it. Despite what others say about the quality of La Liga this year I think there is little doubt that the best team has won the league. I don't even agree with that arguement; it's merely a cover up for those egg suckers. ;) Any who, retaining the title confirms a dominance over your league which, imo, is a pre-requisite to challenging for the Champions League. Winning the CL could not come at a better time than the end of next season because it would tie in perfectly with our progress throughout the years. We have a great manager, a fantastic squad and most importantly our players have re-immersed themselves with the concept of Madridismo. The attitude displayed after pUnal's penalty perconified how close this squad is as a unit and how we could be looking at European Champs elect in the coming years.

Obviously the euphoria is not as wild as last year seeing as, with the greatest respect to the opposition, the title looked in the bag for quite some time. Only a few minor hiccups along the way! There have been so many key players but I think it's the 2 Argentines - Higuain and Gago - who deserve particular mention. Gago is playing at a sensational level at the minute. He has been, imo, are most consistantly excellent player in the second half of the season. Higuain, for all the shite he takes on this board and in Madrid, hasn't made that much of a step up in his all round game. He has improved his finnishing but his all round play is just as good as it always has been.

Great season. Lets hope to do one better next year.

Casillas told the press, "The truth is, although we had to win the match, I'd have been happy with the draw because a point against Barça would have won us the title.

"But when we managed a second goal at the last second the feeling of joy was incredible."

Sergio Ramos agreed. The young defender stated, "The joy is even greater because of the complications of the match.

"They [Osasuna] are a team that fight until the very end and when Fabio [Cannavaro] was sent off we were in trouble, but we fought hard and won.

"Now let's go to Cibeles to enjoy it with the fans."

Pepe added, "This team showed lots of guts to win the match.

"We have shown that Real Madrid have a courageous squad. Now I can't wait to get to Cibeles."

Heinze was clearly emotional as he spoke after the game:

"I have such joy in my heart," he said.

"This is the objective that we had, and in the end we did it.

"This is for all the people who are there every day at Valdebebas [training facility.] We have 25 in this squad and many don't play, but they deserve it as much as the others."

The official celebration will not take place tonight - not that Heinze's bothered. <--- WTF????

The left-back continued, "I don't care if the fiesta's ready or not. I'm going to celebrate in every way."

Gago added, "This was just incredible.

"It was a very difficult match, but the key thing is that we won."

I can't describe how happy I am for this Championship. I have learned to love this Club since I met my father in law who unfortunately couldn't live to experience this 31st Title. Hala Madrid and I will try to see my first live Madrid match when I travel to Spain in September. HALA MADRID COÑO!!!!
