Edited with creative name for the show. :D

-- This should be a really fun show, a bunch of good fighters here. I'll be front and center at the bar for this.

I met Serra in NYC when St. Pierre was fighting Hughes.

His back was messed up and that was not very long ago.

I don't believe this fight will ever come off. He probably needs an operation and he has not done it as yet.

Cote has apparently pulled out of his fight with Belcher due to an injury. He's being replaced with new siging Jason Day, who recently defeated David Louiseau in a Hardcore Championship Fighting event in Calgary earlier in the month.

The fights this weekend folks, and to be honest, the Serra v St.Pierre looks like the only attractive one out of the bunch.

But I got a weird feeling about this one, like Serra is going to pull it off again.

I have a feeling Serra will be fighting hurt and it will end in the first round with the Frenchmen winning.

He did a lot of interviews leading up to his last fight. So far I have seen none makes me wonder if he is really healthy. Anyone seen a recent interview with Serra?

So what if he's hurt. Most MMA fighters fight with injuries, some worse than others of course. With all due respect, I think Matt Serra caught GSP with a lucky punch during the first match. Look at what Georges did to Matt Hughes in their second and third fights.......he made Hughes look like he didn't even belong in the octagon. What's really scary is that every time GSP gets back into the octagon he is faster, stronger and he has new moves (some of which I have never seen before and I've been following MMA for quite a few years now).

What did Serra have a slip disk? This is not a minor injury people suffer all their lives with that. I had a bad back and it goes out on me every once in a while. You can't walk, you can't sleep, it's a bitch to get to the bathroom and take a piss.

You can't fight with that. Sure it was a lucky punch it was not even a punch it was like a head slap that caused him to lose his balance. Then after that he caught some shots.

If he is going to win it has to be with his BJJ and how can he do that with a bad back? You can't/

I think GSP will win, but I wouldn't mind Serra winning at least one title defense bout before giving it up.

I do think it's pretty bush of UFC having the champ have to defend the belt in the hostile backyard of the challenger.

That way they can fill up the arena with a lousy card over all because this is a lousy card.

I will wait for the results come out first before I buy it on pay for view. Serra wins I will buy it other wise I will pass.

Have to go to the theather during that time any way. When I come back will check out the results then I will make a decision.

    Here's the full show:

    LIVE MATCHES:
    * Champion Matt Serra vs. Interim Champion Georges St. Pierre (Welteweighttitle-unification bout)
    * Rich Franklin vs. Travis Lutter
    * Nate Quarry vs. Kalib Starnes
    * Michael Bisping vs. Charles McCarthy
    * Marc Bocek vs. Mac Danzig

    TAPED MATCHES:
    * Joe Doerksen vs. Jason MacDonald
    * Rich Clementi vs. Sam Stout
    * Alan Belcher vs. Jason Day
    * Jonathan Goulet vs. Kuniyoshi Hironaka
    * Ed Herman vs. Demian Maia
    * Brad Morris vs. Cain Velasquez

-- Franklin's in a weird spot. I think he's too much for any other UFC Middleweight right now, but he's not beating Anderson Silva anytime soon. I wonder what the future holds for him.

-- Totally a one-match show, but there are some fighters I like here. So I'll watch the whole thing.

Serra vs St.Pierre 2 and Franklin vs. Silva 2 are/were both in the challengers back yard.
I still think Serra might have something for GSP but instead of a lucky punch, it will be some slick sub.

good night of fights, except for the Starnes V. Quarry...Kalib needs to be working behind the counter at a CVS, he does not belong in the octagon....

Danzig looked pretty good. Too bad the best fight of the night was also the first fight.

F Starnes in the ear. And then on top of that performance he and his corner tried talking trash after the fight for Quarry making fun of him and basically calling him out in the 3rd round. I'm glad he got the 30-24 from one of the judges. And Quarry busting out a line from Rocky IV during his post-match interview in the ring was great.

The other 3 fights went as I thought they would and there really wasn't much drama involved and they all just had an air of inevitibility on who would win.

Oh, and watching the fight hype show on Spike I learned that GSP's sister is really, really hot.

    -- Seriously. She's smoking.

-- And yeah, Starnes disgraced himself badly during the fight - if you're the in the damn Octagon, try and do something. But he didn't and got what he deserved - he's been cut from UFC and buried in the press by Dana White.

-- Travis Lutter looked horrible, too. How are you going to gas so early and so badly in a fight that you really needed to win? The end was sad, with him just holding onto Franklin's ankle. IMO, Lutter should be gone, too. There are too many guys that actually want to get into UFC and actually fight.

-- When GSP's fired up for a fight, he's damn near unstoppable. It'll be interesting to see who he defends against first.

Apparently Starnes was making a stand for the low pay of the UFC fighters or something. Oh well, now he wont be getting paid anything

As for Franklin, There is really nothing for him to do, he can just keep climbing the ladder to just get destroyed by Silva. Either Silva will move up to LH, or Franklin will. I still think Franklin is huge for a middleweight

Starnes states he's a fan of Chomsky so that might explain a bit.

The more you move up, the better guys you beat and the more popular you become the more money UFC will pay you.

Is he thinking EliteXC will pay him more?

exactly, what has he doen to get paid more, he lost in TUF, and hasn't done much sense. Beating Quarry would have been a huge step for him....

He was too small to beat an in shape GSP he is too strong and talented to lose to Serra again.

But Serra is no punk he is a street guy who trained under Renzo Gracie and no one with call him a punk either.

Think he is a punk go visit him on Long island and call him a punk. See if he walks away who kicks your ass. I would bet he would knock you on your ass then he would walk away.
