i'd say ruiz or beckham are the most likely candidates.

ruiz because he's been here long enough for that tedious process to be nearing conclusion.

beckham because he's rich enough to afford the "express line"

If you look at the cap. letters... it spells it out:

"Could one of those four be Close to getting his green cARd as weLl? We'll just have tO wait and See."

    C-A-R-L-O-S

    That's pretty cool...

Of course we can't afford any SI's anyway...

Jazic's trade value just went up. Until now, the only team that could count him as a domestic player was Toronto FC, and Toronto FC already has three starter-quality players competing for two spots at LB/LM. Jazic having a green card gives us more trade options.

Of course, at this point, I'd prefer to play Jazic at left back, with Randolph in midfield, and replace Vanney. To me, Franklin in the center and Vanney out wide is only a quick fix.

Yeah, this to me, means we should keep him. A back 4 of

    Jazic-----Franklin----X-----Klein

is solid. This also allows for Randolph to stay in the midfield, where he has looked more comfortable of late.

    A final lineup of

    ----------------Ruiz-----------------------
    --------------Landon D-------------------
    -Randolph---------------------Beckham-
    ---------McDonald---Franchino-----------
    Jazic---------Franklin---X-----------Klein
    --------------Cronin----------------------

With the following players to make a bench:
    Gordon
    Buddle
    Wicks
    Pires
    Gavin
    Allen
    Tudela
    Vanney

Is really strong in my opinion. I think its more important to start letting the above play together as soon as everyone is healthy, and start building chemistry and familiarity instead of making more trades/changes.

Haha, nice call. And I thought they were just struggling with their cap locks. :D

I like the fact his trade value went up - because that is what we need to do with him.

Ruud is transforming the LAG into a team that plays quickly and applies high pressure all over the field. The addition of Franchino has really accelerated this process.

But I think Jazic would be a step in the reverse direction. He isn't very quick and compensates by backing off his attacker. That keeps him from getting smoked too often but it also gives the forward plenty of time/space to get his head up, pick his target and get off a cross. Maybe Jazic can change his style to a more active, aggressive one but I doubt he has the physical quickness to do so. And even though Gaven made mistakes he fit better into Ruuds high pressure style, imo. Gaven is also much cheaper and young enough that he should improve over time.

I have to disagree with removing vanney and keeping X. X has made the most gaffs, and outside the toronto game vanney has been more solid. I would keep vanney and waive X and see if we could get a younger faster central defender, then move vanney to the bench and we at least have some experienced cover and a little more depth.

Jazic Gets Green Card, Ruiz Next?

    http://thelagalaxy.blogspot.com/2008/04/roster-update.html

Do we care? I mean we now have 4 International spots open but no money to use them. I guess for Jazic it increases his trade value to teams other than TFC since he won't eat up an Intl. spot. Does it make him any more valuable to us though? I don't see it. I just hope he can come back and be a serviceable LB soon thus allowing us to keep Randolph @ LM.

I saw Randolph as a LB not @ LM.

Ruud had used Babayaro in the pre-form match against Seoul as a LM not as LB.

This has shown me that Ruud, sees Randolph as LB and not as LM.

Put Randolph in the LB position and searched a new LM or put Babayaro back from the free agents!

How much money we have is somewhat of a question mark. We have some allocation money from various trades. My feeling is that when the transfer window opens we will make a few noteworthy, but not groundshaking moves.

I missed this being discussed on the next page. Sorry. Mods can go ahead and delete before it devolves into a "formation" discussion.

i agree, i think babayaro at left back, chris albright should get a start at right back with dan calichman and robin fraser as a central paring.

i hope ruud finally starts cien. i guess cobi is injured because he's on the bench in a suit these days. i'd say victorine could deputize for cobi. pena as central mid and i guess adam fry for left mid. it's not ideal, but he's serviceable.

and of course welton and hernandez up top!

Can you imagine how many goals Hurtado is going to score with Beckham's passes?

And BTW, Seth George is totally underrated.
