So, was kicking a ball around today and ended up being kicked off the field after 30-45 minutes. Guess they aren't open to the public as I had thought. My question now is, are there any places in the metro area that have at least moderately well maintained fields that also have goals and nets up?
I noticed that the fields at the rec center on Colorado at 110th still had the nets and goals up from the youth soccer that takes it over every weekend.
Is the complex really "open to the public", or is it just available for rental to the public? My understanding is that Commerce City owns the stadium, but it is operated by KSE. (at work - don't have time to dig through historical threads right now) If it were a city park then you'd definitely have a legit beef. My guess is that it is considered (at least semi-) private property.
Well, I meant open by I thought the fields were open for use, you know, whenever by whomever. I was never kicked off last year when I went to kick around...
Jimmyco, I was actually under the impression that the City didn't own any of it aside from their building. I believe KSE owns all of the fields and The Dick and all the undeveloped dirt surrouding. The fields are certainly to rent, although KSE will allow you free access if you beg and plead. Last year they were going to comp the supporters groups for a game against NE supporters (but the game didn't happen for other reasons) and we didn't have to pay to play when KC supporters made the trip.
Maybe they just started caring this year. I think the big issue for them is risk. They don't want you falling down while playing without you signing a waiver.
I was told we cannot play on them unless we have a permit. Soooo you take that for whatever that means.... *shrugs shoulders*
i think its like 50 60 bucks an hour to rent thats not to bad if you got 2 full teams of 11 to pitch 5 10 bucks in you could make like it an all day bbq type of thing i wish i could find more peeps would be down to do that
Yes - wouldn't be nice if congress were to do something - oh wait - they're all lawyers Gotta protect your interests.
Disclaimers: I'm not a lawyer. I don't play one on TV I didn't sleep at an Holiday Inn Express last night Hell, I don't even know any lawyers. The "legal profession" wouldn't even exist if people didn't hire them to pursue lawsuits, so blame those that bring the suits. The lawyers, like the rest of us, are just trying to make a living. Note: If any lawyers reading this feel the above qualifies me or anyone in my family for free legal services, I'm okay with that.
