******** all the free crap, I will pay full price for every game if you give me a team with some semblance of good play. They have turned a once proud and winning Franchise to a mockery of a football team. Tell Lalas I said to stick his "superclub" shit up his ass.

I will keep my eyes open this week, but if you can will you tell us what time the parking will open for pass holders, and what time the gates open for STH's for the opener? Thanks.

    Steve's-

The blog should not only be for when we are winning. There has been no posts about the game last night. That blog could be used well if it is the first place fans turn to in order to get the transcript of the post game quotes (that usually takes a day or two to find it's way to MLSnet.com. ) It would be nice to see video/audio of post game press conferences as well. Luis Bueno at sidelineviews blog was able to put 10 minutes of the press conference last night on his blog, there is no reason that the official LA galaxy blog couldn't either.

I know it's hard for the blogmaster to spin a 4-0 drubbing so here is a suggestion you could give them from me, tell them not to bother. Just give the fans the cold hard truth even when it's unpleasent.

    Thanks

    From the Front Office:

Due to an unexpected delay with our commemorative stock printing, some season tickets that should have been delivered this week were delayed. Federal Express has advised us that those tickets are due to arrive no later than the afternoon of Tuesday, April 1st. If you have not received them by 5pm on Tuesday, please call our offices at 877-3GALAXY (877-342-5299).

We sincerely apologize for this delay as we know you are eager to receive your tickets. Thank you for your patience....and don't forget to watch the Galaxy open the season at Colorado this Saturday at 6:30 p.m. on Fox Soccer Channel.

Thanks for your support of the LA Galaxy.

I normally don't respond to something like this but:

I am sure nobody in the Galaxy Family is happy about yesterdays game. LEt's see what the season has in store not just 1 game. Remember that the MLS Champ Houston took a beating yesterday as well. I thought that our backs looked terrible.

With that said, you take some of the credibility out of your comment with that type of language. A little class in the posting would be nice.

This is my personal opinion and not that of anyone else.

I agree. I think the blog should be the first (or second) place fans go for more information. For some of the pre-season games we had running commentaries, or at least updates at the half. If you were checking the blog, you wouldn't be aware that a game had even taken place! And it was the SEASON OPENER to boot! I don't think we are expecting video of Ruud throwing chairs in the locker room after the game, but some acknowledgment that something took place would be a great start. Up until now the blog had been a great addition.

I was polite back in 02 when we had the last team that played well. At least we had a team that was fairly even with talent around the field. Now you give us a top heavy team with three guys making all the cash and the rest just filler and expect us to pay increasing ticket prices? Why is that not considered obscene? Why is all the peakcoking by Lalas with no substance obscene. The problem here is that everyone else in the F.O. can move on and say that the new club they work for is the team they love. Guess what most of hardcore fans will never trade our team. The F.O. the coaches, the players are only borrowing the colors, the true fans own them. But the F.O acts like it is ok to pimp the team around and then make OUR team look pathetic.

There is an FO rant thread...maybe you should post the above in there.

It's not like the Steve's can do anything about your complaints anyway...

No Problem. We are all frustrated with the horrible play last night. We all want and have the right to expect better. We should keep demanding it but with the class that we as Galaxy Fans have.

    I love the passion though!!!!!!

For an example, here is dallas' official blog:

    http://worldcupway.blogspot.com/

Note the match report on the reserve game and the video post game with Dallas coach. Also interesting news and notes,

    Here is KC's official blog:

    http://hillcrestroad.blogspot.com/

Note the match commentary, the posting of the post match quote sheet and some real honest to goodness outreach from their FO.

    Our blog?

Well, Alvaro is available for selection on Saturday!

mbar, sometimes i think you can be a bit of a debbie downer, but on this point i agree with you completely.
i mean, i know it's the weekend, but couldn't we take the time to have someone report on the team on the weekend?! how hard (read: how much extra money) could it be(/mean)? i'll pay the extra penny to park, if that's what it means.

Posted on the main Galaxy website a couple of hours (just after midnight) after the end of the game:
Galaxy smacked by trio of blows

I recognize the reports on the loss on the official MLS Net site, which includes good info on the conduct of the match and a summary of key points said in the pressers, etc.

What is most interesting about the blog however is the close up insight and a level of detail inquiring minds want to know. The lack of anything but positive posts is just freaky there.

Still, if I had to choose between having 1/3rd of the story and none of the story, I'd choose 1/3rd.

After the weekend’s disappointment, I figured it’d be nice to share a positive Galaxy experience and this seems the post to do it. Excuse the length.

I’m a STH, but through the HDC rather than the Galaxy. In order to sit in the club section you have to lease the seats for the entire year directly through the HDC. And yes, this does include Chivas games, which I do not attend. Those tickets I send to clients that I don’t like. I don't think they use them either; but I'm sure they get the hint.

Because of the fact that I hold my seats through the HDC, I was not given the STH gift of a LAG scarf per seat. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I decided to contact my ticket rep and see if I could get an explanation.

FYI – if not for this post and what I believe to be a real effort on the part of the Steves to have the voice of the fan heard, I would never have sent this email, I would have simply assumed that they won’t care what one fan has to say. I’ll leave my reps name out of this, as I’m not sure if she’d like to be mentioned.

“I received the tickets in the mail, thanks! One question/concern however: I know that Galaxy season ticket holders are receiving scarves this year. Am I excluded from this because I hold my tickets through HDC and not the Galaxy? I understand why it wouldn’t be included because the tix are for both Chivas and the Galaxy and you wouldn’t want to waste perfectly good scarves on Chivas fans! But, I do not attend the games because I’m a fan of the Home Depot Center or Chivas; I go to games because I’m a Galaxy fan and I feel I should be considered a Galaxy STH. I may sit in a different section at the games than most other STH's, but I certainly don’t want to feel like less than a Galaxy fan for it.

I’m not trying to be antagonistic, I’m just a little put off by the situation and would appreciate your thoughts.”

    Her response:

“Some giveaways are only given to Galaxy STH’s, although the majority of the time we are given the same items for our clients. I guess it didn’t happen this time. You are right, you are a Galaxy STH so you should get the same benefits. If you would like 2 scarves, I will ask for them and get them sent out. Let me know!”

I have no idea how closely the FO and the HDC work together in regards to issues like this, but I am certainly please to report that the HDC came through for me.

Looking forward to receiving my scarves!

Re: The LA Galaxy Wants You! Update on Meeting with the FO

Thank you for those links. They are great to see and read. What I meant though was I would like to see the blog take a more detailed, behind the scenes, maybe even more "unofficial" (for lack of a better word) no-holds-barred approach. After such a loss, let's see/hear/read just how bad X thought the ref was, how much the jet lag effected Donovan and Beckham, and whether or not Cronin thinks such a big loss effects his confidence.
The blog does a good job on many aspects. I enjoyed reading it all throughout the Asia tour. It can be an amazing tool to unite the club and its fans. While the FO deserves credit for recognizing the potential of the blog, I think now its time to fully tap into that potential. Especially when half of the fans are having a meltdown after the loss.

We agree with you on the need for current and updated info on the blog. After speaking with people in the FO regarding this I am sure it will be getting better. It is still a work in progress and at times just does not get the attention that it deserves. In all honesty, it is not the media dept's highest priority. They are committed to making it better and ask for patience. Keep positive suggestions coming on content and other ideas.

yeah, i was about to post this. jesus. its not like any of us want to be reminded of the atrocity that was saturday night's game, but the blog is acting as if it never happened. I guess they only post good news?

And for the record, I do appreciate having the blog. Some of their posts, especially the photos, and stuff we wouldn't have otherwise heard of, has been really interesting. I just think to completely ignore the season opener because we lost is just ridiculous.

I agree. Whats more important is that the people who can actually do something about this also agree and the matter has been addressed. Someone has a bit of egg on their face. Please continue to send ideas for content that you would like in the blog and season ticket holder newsletter. We want to get these tailored to the interests of all of us fans.
