Re: The LA Galaxy Wants You! Update on Meeting with the FO Weird thing with my season tickets... I got something yesterday that were tickets for my first 4 home games printed on regular ticket stock (i.e. ticketmaster tupe tickets) and a note saying the rest of the tickets would be coming on commemorative stock in a few weeks. Not sure how I missed the deadline for having all my tickets on commemorative stock as I renewed at earliest opportunity. I did change my seat at the time of the select a seat but that was a while back. I don't really mind, however, so it's no big deal. But it probably won't help me get my 20% discount because they look like any old tickets.
Re: The LA Galaxy Wants You! Update on Meeting with the FO Your temp discount card should be included in the tickets you received yesterday. Here is more info on the tickets and why you received regular stock, also some good info on parking from Lisa: There will be a discount card – it’s actually on one of the pages in the commemorative season ticket booklets. On related topics: we had some unexpected delays at the commemorative stock printers’ this week, and the tickets that were supposed to be FedExed last Friday for arrival this past Tuesday were delayed. Some went yesterday for delivery today; some are going today for delivery tomorrow. We are planning to send an email announcement today to update people and to remind them they can always use Account Manager if they’re getting super anxious. Re commemorative stock: we are hoping to give every full season ticket holder commemorative stock for their season tickets this year. Because it takes the commemorative stock printers (in Arkansas) a few weeks to print, we plan to print a month’s worth of games plus a temporary Team LA discount card on spitter stock through our office here to tide the STHs over until the commemorative stock arrives with the rest of their tickets and the “permanent” Team LA discount card valid until next season. <edit sl> We have had 3 meetings this week with various HDC staff members re the parking situation here. The only concrete thing that came out of it is that season parking passholders should come in through Gate C only and that we should do everything possible to direct general parking (anyone without a pass) to Gate G off of Central Ave (east of the stadium) or Gate I off of University Ave (south of the stadium). Those 2 gates are VERY underutilized as Mapquest directions send everyone to Gate A. Gate G requires a walk through the campus to reach the stadium, and it will probably result in much faster ingress & egress than other gates but we (Galaxy staff) expressed our concerns over the lack of proper lighting and directions; <edit sl> we want fans to feel safe when they are going to or coming from their cars. I’d personally feel more comfortable with Gate I at present as we think the lighting is better and it’s not as far a walk (although it is true that it is a walk). <edit sl> Long answer just wanted you to have the latest. Re: The LA Galaxy Wants You! Update on Meeting with the FO Did we get any updates on tailgating and/or flags?
Re: The LA Galaxy Wants You! Update on Meeting with the FO thanks for the update. I guess I'll get the discount card when I get the commemorative stock tickets, whenever that is. Sounds good. As for parking, hopefully I'll still be able to go in lot B as I've found that very efficient for me both in and out of the stadium. Hope we don't see any surprises this year like last with regards to parking prices. ($20 up from $15 which was up from $10 last season?) Thanks for your hard work here.
Re: The LA Galaxy Wants You! Update on Meeting with the FO Nothing that I may report on at this time. FO staff, Steve R. and I are meeting with the University next Wed. Steve L.
Re: The LA Galaxy Wants You! Update on Meeting with the FO Ok thanks. Hey can you also find out if the new authentic jerseys will be available next week? I want to get mine asap hehe. We appreciate the work you do, thanks!
Re: The LA Galaxy Wants You! Update on Meeting with the FO The walk from the lots in gate G and H are awful and shouldn't cost the same as parking right next to the stadium. $20 (even $15) to park there is absolutely ludicrous.
Re: The LA Galaxy Wants You! Update on Meeting with the FO Parking was $15 last year, right? I think it's going to be $15 again. $20 was for the Chelsea game. I agree about the lower parking fee out in the boonies - I loved it when we paid $10 to park out there, and it helps to spread out the traffic a little more, I'd think.
Re: The LA Galaxy Wants You! Update on Meeting with the FO It was $20 for me at Gate I the whole second half of the year.
The parking situation is dumb and a blatant rip off not to mention the money wasted on filling up all those SUVs. The inevitable pre and post game traffic jam is frustrating. I've suggested that the galaxy facilitate the usage of the subway/light rail and apparently that has gone no where. I'm ready for a bicycle revolt along the lines of a Midnight Riddaz mass cycling event. I live in the Silverlake/Echo Park area and the bicycling movement has become visibly large. I'm seriously thinking about riding my bike with my family to union station and picking up the blue line to carson and then riding my bike to HDC. Who's up for a critical mass style ride for Galaxy home games? Could this be the genesis of a new galaxy supporters club comprised of bicycling enthusiasts? Maybe a Riot Squad on wheels! The midnight riddaz and critical mass style rides are great fun, often costume themed, subversive in a good way, sometimes large (1000+), a good way to meet others, an interesting way to see the city and often turn into impromtu parties. Note to the Galaxy marketing people: Midnight riddaz, Critical Mass and other underground riding groups are usually looking for different themed rides. Hint: discount admission and beer for organized riding groups will potentially bring you new fans. Steves, any help with this?
So for those of you with experience, how early will I have to get to the stadium to be 1st 5000 and get this sweet t-shirt?: http://la.galaxy.mlsnet.com/t106/fans/promotions/ I've missed out on most of these promotions, especially the one for only 5000 people - is it kind of a zoo? Or if you get there early enough is it pretty easy to nab the merchandise?
Maybe they should change the policy from "first [insert number] get free item" to "if you're in your seat by walkouts & kickoff, you get a free item" Our crowds might stop looking bad until the 15th minute.
Weeknight game - you think we'll get 5000? I kid. Geneva, If you're there when the gates open, I don't think in the history of the HDC you'd fail to get the giveaway. It is an easy get. Always hard to judge fan response with no prior games, though. My guess for this one is if you're at the gate as late as 6:45 you're probably getting one, but of course once my wife gets a look at these T-shirts the family will probably be arriving around 6 to collect 0.1% of all the T-shirts.
we got there fairly late for the Cobi Jones tshirt night (15 minutes until kickoff?) and we got the last shirts...size was XL though I'll def be there early for the free black shirt though
I think gates are opening early for the opener though. I think I read there is a pre-game concert at 6:30. So gates must be well before that.
had I bought season tickets this year. I would have totally joined you although i don't have a bike but i would have at least rode the train down to the stadium. the issue for me is when you leave the stadium, the bus service stinks at night in that area.
Correct me if I am wrong but can't season seat holders enter the HDC up to two hours before kick off? This has been the case in the past for me. Also, if you think you might not make it, email/call your ticket rep NOW and ask he or she to grab some for you. That has worked for me in the past.
Yes. Season Ticket Holders have early access to the stadium and thus if you arrive early will more than likely get the t-shirt.
