The penalty looked clear to me. The defender put his hand on the ball = penalty. You use your arms and hands as support while your in the air, you don't stick them up at the ball. It could have been easily prevented.

When Lucena jumped he was perpendicular to the Brazilian's player's back. When they both jump for the ball the impact pins his arm against the attacker's back. So there was no way Lucena could have avoided bringing down his arm in the dispute for the ball. What makes it worst is that the incompetent ref is no where near the action. You want to call it a penalty? I guess, I rather call them one sided penalty.

I agree, no bias: the PK looked legit to me, personally.

is it true Flamengo will boycott playing in Peru against Cienciano??
and that they will get a huge penalty for it (being kicked out of CONMENBOL competitions for 5 years)???

The president is trying to push his luck with FIFA forcing them to make COMNEBOL respect their rules, but in the end, I believe Fla will eventually go to Cusco and play. In all honesty, I wish his plane went missing on his way back from Europe:rolleyes:

I don't mean to brag but...

Ok, I do mean to brag, even though it's just blind luck. :D

So far this week I predicted correctly the exact score of every single match, except the Caracas vs Cruzeiro match, which I missed by just one goal.

Hopefully my luck will continue, as I predicted Boca beating Colo-Colo in Chile, which is not an easy feat.

...you mean 'was' not an easy feat. I'd be surprised if Boca don't come out on top 3-1 or something. Colo-Colo have no Mati/Valdivia/Suazo/Vidal/Giovanni to save them now...it's almost not fair how the team was stripped apart...a small part of me feels for the indians.........................but its a very small part. :D

I realize that Colo-Colo isn't what it used to be. I know they are rebuilding. But nevertheless I still think it's going to be a very tough game. For starters, it's never easy to go to Chile for an Argentine team, and even less to their stadium. And Colo-Colo has a historical rivalry with Boca. I think regardless of how they play the rest of their matches, they're going to give their lives on the field tonight. They're going to play their heart out, and their barras and all their fans are going to be into it. If Boca is to beat them, they have to be ready to go all out too.

Fortunately, Boca with Riquelme is a very patient and mature team, and I think Boca will not let the pressure get to them. That is why I think they have a good chance to win.

lol looks like the taste of Libertad's flavor of the month is ending, from going to the semis to not even making out of a group that they could have gone out of.

Cerro is another one that has gone downhill and Olimpia has been solid in the apertura, looks like it could be our time to shine again.

So, so far we have Libertad and Danubio out? Can't really blame them they were in complicated groups, Cuenca displayed to be a good rival, and Group 8 resulted to be really complicated, although Fluminense is dominates there, probably they are looking better than Cruzeiro now. I was expecting more from Libertad, but also from São Paulo they don't look that impressive. Didn't see the match between Cuenca and Lanús so i can't say much about it.

Interesting match yesterday between Colo Colo and Boca very entertaining maybe not for Boca, because they were very unlucky they couldn't do anything right, in top of that Riquelme injured, but Colo Colo played well and could get the 3 points, that group is gonna be interesting too.

Regarding that fake penalty call, it was clearly outside the box, but was it a foul even?

    ¡Forza Audax!
