Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 It kind of bothers me we don't have a construction schedule yet. We have the go ahead to take a wrecking ball to the place now... don't we? Why wait until spring when you can get a 2 month jump on the project by starting now? I just can't wait until this project actually gets under way and Tolbert can't do shit about it anymore.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 I was talking to a church pastor at Target today and we were talking about our new stadium... and I said that Richard Tolbert said that he could resurrect the mall ... and that Jesus himself would have a tough time with it (considering how dead it was when they closed it)... he said Jesus wouldn't waste his time...
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 yeah, i can't wait to drive by and see fencing up and bulldozers in action. let's knock this delapidated mall down already!
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 Has anybody heard anything about the state TIF...has it been considered or approved yet? I thought I remember seeing something should be done by mid-February, and guess what time it is....
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 The application was received at the state offices on February 6, 2008, and it is currently undergoing our initial review process.

Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 New tagline... "Our 60 to 90 days is faster than your 60 to 90 days...."
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 No, no, no, please don't start this talk. Nobody reads those things anymore with the new layout. It's a troll invite if there ever was one and quite frankly many who think they have creative wit, really don't but we'll have to read and vote on it anyway.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 http://hillcrestroad.blogspot.com/2008/02/stadium-progress.html Heineman with an update on the stadium situation.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 Sounds like more of the same..."hurry up and wait". The city council understood the timeline rush...why can't the state? I hope Lane4 is actually working on the land acquistion already. And didn't I read somewhere a few months ago that demo could begin before the state funds were secured? I don't see why they aren't all over that in the meantime....keep Tolbert quiet.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 Rat abatement? That's not an acronym for something? He really means rats? [shaking head] Tolbert really is a slum lord, isn't he? He's wanting to keep a place open that has real mall rats, not figurative ones. Sounds to me like y'all could help with this one, and it wouldn't even be destructive. A nice little supporters side project -- bring all your cats to a day out at the mall.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 "Rat Abatement" Now that's a pleasant concept, right there.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 Land acquisition must be conducted by the city. An appraiser will shortly be appointed to value the properties and pay off owners. As such demo will have to be conducted by the city if done now. It may not be such a priority for them. Alternately if the city condemns the property as a hazard, demo could proceed quickly. There are ways for citizens to initiate this. I suspect the city does not want to proceed without this last piece of the puzzle, In case it falls through and they are left holding the can. Remember the economic proposal presented to the city says the project is un-viable without State TIF. This is what won the Funk over. The flip side is, that the city cannot now proceed without State TIF approval. From what I can glean, it will be 90 days at the least as the Missouri legislature votes End of May.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 That makes sense. It would be nice if the state could realize the timeliness of this project like the city council did and request an earlier vote on this. Damn government....
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 http://blogs.pitch.com/plog/2008/02/richard_tolbert_saves_what.php I thought ya'll might enjoy this story about a certain person that wanted to "save Bannister" . It's also interesting that it was posted tomorrow at 7:09 AM...
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 I guess this might explain why we haven't seen any further Bannister action from him....he's digging through piles to find "the important stuff". It's nice to see this kind of behavior runs in the family. I love the idea that The Pitch follows him around to show what type of person he really is.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 I'd rather it was someone other than The Pitch. When it comes to journalistic integrity, The Pitch is the last place you should go. They've never let fact checking get in the way of a good story.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 True....I agree with you on that, but I was talking more about there is at least a source that reports on the really dark side of Tolbert. I would not have known about his reign as the Blight King if it had not been for that one article that they had a year or so ago. If nobody else wants to follow this dirtbag around, it might as well be The Pitch.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 Guess this is as good a place as any to put this. The following is a question that was posted on the Star's website in the comments section of the Lopez article. It shows the lack of news in the community for the casual sports fan about where the Wizards are playing this season. This guy probably isn't the only one that would possibly be coming out to games that doesn't know exactly where the team is playing this season.
Re: KC Wizards Stadium News/Discussion 08.2 Bump. Can't let this thread drop to page 2 under any circumstances.
