Citeh 0-2 Everton. Everton played as a team supporting each other. Could have scored 4, too. Unlike us, when we played City. Of course, it helped that City were trying to attack but Everton deserve the position they have. Much as it hurts to say that.

We are going to have to win this ourselves. Everton is a good British team with a solid team. We simply need to win most of our last 12 games. They will not give much away.

The derby match will be one of the most important in the last couple of years.

Good point. As an allegedly top 4 team, we really do not need anybody to drop points for us. I think Everton play as a team without "only one" goal threat. I think Johnson had bombed, though. We, on the other hand, have more or less depended on Torres, Gerrard and, to a lesser extent Babel and Benayoun. It's the Babel, Benayoun and A.N. Other who must step into the breach when the other two are having an off day and that hasn't happened often enough for us to kill games. Oh, heck! This is about other teams

Well, they were pretty mediocre when they played us. I thought Wigan showed more intent against us.

I am sure that Everton will lose against us, Villa, Chelsea and Arsenal. They will also lose in the UEFA Cup when they meet a half-decent side. Fiorentina should do it.

Everton have had a good season but we are still favourites to finish above them and with good reason. Our injuries are clearing up and our confidence will improve thanks to our last few results. There is little room for either team to slip up in the League thanks to the proximity of Man City, Villa etc.

I caught the last 20 minutes of Reggina - Juve this weekend, and based on what the commentators said and what little I saw, Momo had a very good game for the first 89 minutes. He broke up the midfield, got forward, and played some, dare I say, beautiful long passes. Clearly the pace of Serie A is more to his liking and the change of scenery has been good for him.

Then in the 90th minute he gave up one of the most ridiculous, inexplicable penalties I've ever seen, which Reggina converted for the 2-1 win.

It was worse because as well as the double compound fracture...he also dislocated his ankle, which makes it harder to re-aline the fibula and tibia and it will take longer to heal.

Thinking back to Gallas' reaction to the late Pen award at Birmingham. It was very bad leadership and unprofessional for Gallas to walk away into the opposition half before the kick was taken. No Arsenal fan can dispute that.

As a CB it is one of Gallas' prime duties to be just outside the penalty area when the kick is taken so that he can run in and in the event of a save or a rebound he can clear it. As a Captain he should also have been attempting to encourage the keeper prior to the kick. As it was he was upfield in an offside position! In the event of a save and quick counter-attack Gallas would have been off-side so his position was unprofessional for a variety of reasons!

I found it the most extraordinary acts of petulance in sport since McEnroe's tantrums. And there it's a one man sport.

On another issue, now that they seem to have failed, for now, to get Benitez sacked the press pack is onto Grant's case. Despite the near- universal campaign for Terry and Lampard to start the Carling Cup final-- even though Chelsea had been doing perfectly fine without them-- the journos scent blood. Funny old world, eh?

Adebayor shows that the point blank header over the goal move is something he has perfected. His heading is as bad as Crouch's. A very late Bendtner goal saves Arsenal from a home defeat to an impressive Villa.

Villa could have scored 2 or 3 before the half - if only they knew how to strike the ball left-footed. Barry was very good, IMO. You're too harsh on Adebayor.

At this rate Arsenal are pretty much handing the title to the Mancs.

With City and Villa dropping points we have a chance to gain some valuable ground

Lampard gets sent off at West Ham. A harsh decision.

Elano got injured for City. They have Richards out injured and Petrov might miss the next few games suspended. City still cannot perform away from home and their home form has now dropped off. It remains to be seen whether Thaksin clears his name in Thailand or ends up in jail. Despite all the furore about Hicks and Gillett at least they are not on bail awaiting trial!
