Sorry this is a bit of a saga, but I need to get it off my chest.............

    My ticket was £30..........

This game had disaster written all over it for me :(

First I got very p!ssed at the weekend and put my ticket somewhere safe, where I would easily find it!

Secondly, when I sobered up I couldn't find it.

Eventually, having turned everywhere upside down, I decided, fcuk it, it was only 30 quid anyway.....

Then I found it - so I decided to go, for a number of amoeba brained reasons, none of which (sadly) were mutually exclusive:

    1. I had a ticket.
    2. The dawn of a new era for English football.
    3. I would pay my respects to the lives lost in the Munich air crash!
    4. I had Thursday and Friday booked off, so I could have a good drink.
    5. I'd had a sh!t day at work and needed a pick-me-up.
    6. I had all the time in the world to get there, as I was going to have a drink in the ground for a change, instead of going to a pub!
    7. I could go and have a drink and something to eat with my mates, who were planning an assault on Covent Garden, after the game.

So, I left work on a high, having told an agency HR consultant that the only way I could satisfy her, was to sit her on a cactus, she took it well, as you do..............

I got a train from an Essex suburb at 5.15, changed at West Ham onto the Jubilee line - I knew the route well as I went to college in the N West End and travelled to Baker Street 3/4 times a week for 2 years.

The PA system at West Ham said that, 'service was good' - but was it, fcuk...............

I let the first train go, as it was stopping a few stations short of Wembley Park, it was only 2 minutes to the next train.

It was completely empty when it arrived from Stratford.

About a dozen of us got on including 4 girls, all wearing their England gear - I only noticed because one had a really fit arse.

Took us 5 minutes to get to Canning Town.

The driver told us that there was a train stuck at Canary Wharf, so we were held in a queue.

Took us 5 minutes more to get to North Greenwich.

Same to Canary Wharf - I started extrapolating - 5 minutes per station, only 22 in total - I'd be there by 7.30 latest.............wrong.........

At Canary Wharf, every fcuker and their brother and sister got on, the train was mobbed!

The theory now was - we were past the stuck train - plain sailing.......yes?

    Noooooooooo............................

We moved off into the tunnel and went about a mile when we stopped again - we sat for 15 minutes going nowhere, then all the lights went off and the emergency lights came on - we could hear an alarm going off -

The driver told us there was a technical problem in the first carriage and engineers were trying to fix it - then the entire world went black - the emergency lights and air con, plus all the lights in the tunnel went off - you could hear a pin drop.........

15 minutes later the lights came back on and the driver said we would shortly, be limping into Canada Water, the problem was intermittent power failure - the real problem was one lying cvnt.................

Then all the lights went off again......

We eventually reached Canada Water at 7.00pm, where they advised us to leave the train and told us to p!ss-off and get a bus, at last some honesty!

Trouble was, there were 500 people queuing to get on the bus going in the right direction - it was at this stage, I decide to go home.

There were only 300 queuing to go the other way, which was to head to the deep south, to Lewisham, where you could pick up the Docklands Light Railway, back from where you came, to the Bank.

So I went for it, walked through to Monument, where I met the fit arse again, then to Tower Hill, round to Fenchurch Street and back to the suburbs - I arrived back at where I started after three and a half hours, travelling in a complete circle to nowhere!

When I got to my local pub, it was half-time.

In conclusion, I only have one thing to say, God help us all, if we win the Olympic bid........

    Wot???????????????????????????

I think I might have detected a glint in her eye, if it weren't for the fact I was staring at her arse -

'...She caught my eye as I walked on by.............but we shared a moment that will last to the end...'

I only really exchanged pleasantries with her mum, who was gagging for it..............:)

I suspect that she was less "gagging for it" than desperately trying to open a window !!

I've been through the same crap of trying to get to Wembley after work. It is a genuine nightmare. My preference was that they'd build a stadium outside London. It'd be just as quick to get to on an overland train.

They should have built Wembley somewhere in the midlands for half the price. Same stadium, easier to get too. Oh sorry, everyone already knows that.

Good story, and it's the reason why I don't plan on going to Wembley again unless Everton are in a cup final.

Which will unfortunately be next year.....

Not so much of a problem at the weekend, although half the network is shut down for 'preventative getting to a game'........:(

It most definitely should have been built elsewhere, as London Underground can't cope, it's as simple as that, they are complete wankers!

My problem was, I had been lulled into a false sense of security and was already committed to the Jubilee line - they offered to refund my return journey fare - told them to stick it up their arse - do you detect the scent of burning martyr?

Jubilee Line is still screwed up today. I asked a guard what was going on and they said that they hated your guts and wanted to ensure that you completed a miserable week miserably. Oh, and they also had to replace a section of track.

Ken Deadfromtheneckup Livingstone, has changed his congestion charge to an emissions charge, which strangely, coincided with a report that said congestion was massively down..............we've gotta get it from somewhere guvnor???

So once again we're driven onto the snail-like buses and the motionless trains - London is grinding to a halt, thanks Ken - I think it might be time for a change............:(

    Heh!
Dude, you don't need lessons from me on how to get spit off a screen. Keep licking it like you lick the rear window of the yellow bus that takes you to school. "Special Needs" indeed.

And yet you still got our money for whatever rail link is planned next that was supposed to give us Supertram. "Whats that Leeds? You want a transport system that matches the ambition of the countries 2nd largest financial centre? F*ck you, we need a five trains a minute rail link between Camden Market and Brighton. I know it has no benefit, but it will allow us to bleed the country dry to make the country look less shit for the Olympics."

I went to the Arse last night to watch Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaazil play Sveeeeden!

Bear with me with this, I'll get to the point at the end

It's another pox of a place to get to, if you're travelling from East London, but, hallelujah, most of the trains were running - other than the overland link from West Ham, which is shut, due to regeneration, for the olympics!

So it was Fenchurch Street, Tower Hill, King's Cross, then Highbury & Islington! Not so sad, but enough of a pain in the arse, to mention!

The walk from the station is possibly a couple of three miles, I have no sense of distance or direction, which is evidenced by my 14 handicap at golf (and it's come down).

We walked past the ground and went into a cafe (Caza I think), a Turkish place, but good food, huge plates and very reasonable prices!

We then made our way into the stadium, just after 7.00pm, a pint of lager was £3.10p and a coke £2.00p - there were no queues for food, drink or programs.

There were lifts to the upper tiers, where we were, so we got a couple of pints and watched the warm-ups and flashbacks on the wide screen TV's - the place was mobbed, the beer was OK and the food looked good!

We wandered into the stadium at 7.40pm and it looked empty, but soon started to fill.

I would estimate that 70% of the people in the ground were Brazilian, or their supporters?

The seats were huge and padded and the view spectacular.

It appeared that all the Brazilians, did not have tickets, sat together with their friends, so they all piled in and sat where they liked - this led to some friction and as the stadium got fuller and fuller, I ended up, pulling 2 Brazilians apart, who were fighting over wrongly-occupied seats! It was handbags, no big deal!

The atmosphere was good and the caramel-coloured totty, spectacular, I've never seen so much crumpet at a game of footy!

Now the point of this is, that the whole shabang, was very well organised, there were enough competent staff on duty, to fulfill the needs of the 60k attendance.

The Tube got it sort of right, the old bill were untroubled, the match organisers did wonderfully, the stadium is superb, probably the best I've been in!

And it was a Wednesday nite.

It sort of begs the question - is this because the FA have got fcuk all to do with it?

We all know they are incompetent titwanks, but with the prospect of playing 5 home games in WC qualifying, only one of which is on a Saturday, I sense disaster!

4 Wednesday nites, in the rush hour, 90k overpowering the infrastructure, no booze in the ground, so everywhere around will be inundated and 80k will be trying to get into the stadium at the last minute (if they can get there)!

I think they (the FA) need to speak to the Arse and ask them how to organise a midweek game, or change them all to Saturdays and keep the underground open!

Or switch the games to Old Trafford or the Emirates, where they seem to be a tad more capable :)
