Well I don't consider Boro and West Ham complete pushover games. Newcastle is in a poor state though.
Hey LB, did you read what Ives Galarcep said about DCU and their trade of both Adu and Gomez? "t is a trade that has officials around the league clapping their hands in the direction of DC United, which has fleeced yet another team." I don't really think it's DCU's fault that teams are stupid enough to do those deals.
We shall see Christian is a good player but maybe not worth the salary cap hit that the Crapids took. And for a player we couldn't re-sign a DP slot and a firsy round draft choice ain't bad
Thankfully it was Rapids who turn out that deal, we (as in Toronto FC) were linked with him though from looking at what Rapids gave up I don't think it is worth it.
The Man U v. Arsenal matchup thrown up by the FA Cup draw will provide a great match up in what will otherwise be a boring weekend of football. Here is to an Arsenal win. I can live with an Arsenal double if that means no trophies for Chrissy and the **********cats.
Bolton beats Atletico Spurs beat Slavia Prague Aberdeen draws with Bayern Munich (Forever Red, wtf?) And in other news, FIFA has denied the Prem's 39th games. Probably a good decision. In other news, Jack Warner, FIFA VP and rep from CONCACAF has pulled a ridiculous u-turn and now backs England to host the WC in 2018. I like the decision. I have more of a chance of getting tickets if its in England (because of some inside connections) than I do if it were held in North America. In other news, the richest clubs list was released and goes like this. 1. Real Madrid 2. Man U 3. Barca 4. Chelsea 5. Arsenal 6. AC Milan 7. Bayern Munich 8. Liverpool 9. Inter 10. Roma No surprises in that list except for Roma.
Yes I did a pretty poor job of communicating my sentiment in that past message. I just meant in the event Liverpool didn't take the 3rd FA cup this side of the millennium than I could much rather live a le'arse victory.
I don't care, I'm still cheering for L'Arse in any game we're not playing in this year. They are the lesser of 5 evils: Skanks, Chavs, Citeh, Bitters, Taters.
People shouldn't be surprised when these "spanish favorites" lose in the UEFA Cup. Villareal lost in Russia and Atletico to Bolton and I expected it. The UEFA Cup, like the CL, can be a tricky competition where "smaller" teams play as if their lives depend on it to get results. Aberdeen played really well and gave it 110% against a Bayern team missing some key players and having some deeper problems. I still expect the "big" clubs to go through in the second leg but these surprise results will happen as the competition goes on.
Plus La Liga typically under perform when not playing in front of La Liga referees. They players just cant handle being taken out of the ballet and thrown into a football game where players are allowed to make challenges on each other.
Arse sure got drilled by ManUre in the FA Cup. I caught the highlights of Zaragoza vs Barca 1:2 ... Henry scores with the help of his hand, Zaragoza miss penalty and Barca convert theirs in 83rd minute - the linesman called hand ball PK on Zaragoza defender standing 10 yds away...the defender played the ball with his shoulder. BTW, Inter wins again...did they only lose to Fenerbahce this season? Just checked ESPNSoccernet stats...Ibrahimovic has 14 goals in 17 games in SerieA and is 5 for 5 in Champs League...scary.
I've found it hilarious that people say that Spanish teams are the best around. Yet put Barcelona against us and they can't beat us (They need us down a man to win) or the fact that they lost to you guys last season and got knocked out. Good luck against Inter by the way.
Betis also beat Madrid! Looked unlikely when Drenthe scored but if you don't convert your chances ...
Roma-Real 2-1...Roma scored the winner against the run of play. Even though they lost, Real looked (to me, at least) the better team - they will miss Ramos though. Didn't watch the other two games. PS The press caught Guti kissing a man...looks like his wife (mother of his two kids) will leave him after 8 years of marriage.
