Sen. Arlen Spectre on "Outside The Lines" just said he's ready to take this all the way up to and including a Senate Commitee. He said he'd bring in everyone from Tom Brady on up. Curt Warner is quoted as saying he'd testify. I think this is going to get ugly.

Please. It's the lesser of the two Boston newspapers, it's a 6 year old "story", and it's an "unnamed source."

This is someone trying to ******** with the Pats on the day of the Superbowl. Nothing more.

I guess we'll see tomorrow after Spectre hauls Goodell's butt into his office.

This is pathetic, doesn't his esteemed Senator have better things to worry about?

Well, the NFL is a multi-billion dollar business. If anything, something like this could hurt the bookies in Vegas. :D

I'm with you. I guess things like war, the economy, and immigration are secondary to Mr. Spector.

The Giants didn't need any help.

The Patriots' O-Line REALLY needed help. They got biatch slapped by the Giants' D-Line.

Yeah, this is over the top.

$50M is sufficient. Even Latrell Sprewell could feed his family on that...

I don't think this guy has anything to worry about- the stuff that won them the three Super Bowls was probably destroyed by Goodell. I doubt there will be anything here that will force the NFL to grow a pair and say "your team has harmed the integrity of the game".

Bellichick is pulling a Clemens... might get interesting if Specter has any real staying power. Mr. Specter, offer Walsh a seven-bedroom condo in Monaco if you have to, but get to the damn bottom of this crap.

Arlen Spector (R-PA) will not rest until he finds out why the Steelers and the Eagles lost to the Patriots in the playoffs.

    Jesus Christ.

NFL fans deserve a clean league no matter where Spector lives. I'm just glad someone had the courage to step up and do what's right.

So that includes spending taxpayers' money to get to the bottom of a videotaping scandal? This is not a steroid thing where people poison their bodies, and inflict damage to themselves, this is a freakin' videotaping issue. Like Kornheiser said, this guy ought to be ashamed of himself.

Do you think Spector would be doing this if he was a Senator in any other state. He is doing this simply because he is an Eagles fan.

Whether or not his job calls for this level of interest is for another thread. I'll start it if you'd rather not.
