Clearly, we can no longer rely on this club for any sort of entertainment, other than of the sado-masochistic sort. And it's become just as obvious to me that the only sensible and effective response to being a Crew fan is drink. I therefore propose that we let loose of our futile hopes that the Crew will give us any positive reason to imbibe anywhere near One Black & Gold Blvd, and arrange for the occasional get-together at a local watering hole; a bi-monthly Friday happy hour anyone? Admit it, we're all just sitting at home (or in the stadium) each week, cursing this team, our sad luck of being fans of it, and pounding back beers after beer in a desperate attempt to dull the rising tide of pain and frustration. Or is it just me? ...No, I didn't think so. So, any interest in the occasional Crew fan happy hour? It's got to be more fun than actually watching this team play. And, at happy hour prices, it'll be cheaper than therapy.
Hello peeps,im from England and so far i have a good record watching the crew. 2 years ago played the metrostars won 1-0 last minute goal!!! And i got drunk...brilliant stuff so thats a 100% record of watching the crew win! haha Anyway im coming over again to visit some friends at the end of march for a week, hopefully in time to catch the crew v toronto so id be up for a beer or 2 or 3...or 10 you get the idea. Another thing does anybody know of anyone that has a game or a kick about, would be a good laugh to bring my boots with me and have a kick about while im on my holidays. cheers jack
Hey Jack, Just show up a few hours before the match and there will be a horde of us drinking outside the stadium (tailgating, if you're familiar). Keep checking www.crewunion.com for details to be added as the date gets closer. Toronto is expected to bring 1,100+ of their fans down to the match, so it should be a classic atmosphere. Bring your lucky charms with you so we continue our good run against TFC that day.
are there any 'official' plans for the group before the match on 3/29? In a incredible stroke of luck, I've been called back from the frozen North to C'bus for work and I'll be getting season tickets for the first time since 99. I'm stoked. I can't wait.. I wanna be hammered before noon on gameday. If there aren't official plans for the group to get together then lets make some.... I would love to meet everyone..
I'm sure there will be folks at Tommy Keegan's before hand and then I'm sure there will be a tailgate as well. As for specifics, HHM and the rest I think are working on them but haven't announced anything yet. I would like to bring in some treats from the local German butcher to fire up on the grill. I would also be interested in knowing the official policy of the land holders on bringing in a keg, as I think that would be the way to go to get the season started right. I think we could all rally against the Canadian invaders with some nice big-can brew supporting us.
Bobby, we'll get you a wheelbarrow to cart you around in, once you get to the stadium. I think you'll be needing it lad. Edit: Likely what bobby'll be doing by the final whistle against TFC
