Round of 32 for the UEFA Cup starts this Wednesday. Everton's got to head out to Brann to play a team that's still in pre-season shape. Hopefully that helps out our boys.

I'd like to think that we can come away with a win on the road in the first leg. I'm assuming Yak will be available, and not sure about Pienaar?

The second leg is next Thursday at Goodison.

The winner of this draw will play the winner of Rosenborg and Fiorentina, starting March 6th (two weeks after our home tie).

    COYB!

I'm taking a half day off to go to the pub and watch. We'd better not expect a cake walk.

It's going to be tough, that's a certainty.

Yakubu has to start and I expect not to see Pienaar.

I'm going for a marginal win though.

Well some good news and some very bad news. The good news is Yak traveled to Brann. The bad news is Arteta and Pienaar are both out. Arteta has traveled to Spain to see a specialist about his groin injury. Gosling, Rodwell, and van der Meyde are all traveling. I sure hope Brann have the same luck with injuries we are.

I heard he'd signed a new contract with Everton as a ball boy? Any truth to this?

Oh come on Andy Vandy's class he's damn good on the ball he's just had a really really REALLY bad career here so far. But Moyes would have gotten rid of him by now if he didn't have a role to play still

No doubt he's a good player, but the bad start he's had was all of his own making.

Absolutely agree. Talented or not, he's proven by his actions time and time again exactly what Everton (and his last chance at having a career) means to him. While no one expects him to put his career above his family, there are proper channels through which he could have secured time off. Instead, he chose to not bother showing up.

    Who needs guys like that.

BTW, the group we won has gotten off to a good start with Zenit defeating Villareal 1-0 at home.
