    Great stuff Mike.

Not so sure about the "wrenching loss of Marco" bit. He was way past his prime and holding the squad back.

Gomez on the other hand was at the top of his game when he left United.

I thought Marco's loss was wrenching. A player of his caliber in decline and what he meant to United on and off the field, it was hard for the people that loved him.

As far as holding the squad back, there are about a half dozen names you can add to that list.

In all honesty, in that context you are correct.

However, the main reason I said that was simply to needle Mike and his man-crush on Marco.:p

He has now moved on to Fred.

Gone for Good, or Gone for Real? ;)

You can't stop Mike's man-crushes, you can only stand back and watch.

It'll be a while before I get over this. Seeing him playing us wearing their colors in May won't help. Dammit.

Good riddance. Loved you while you were here, but you're not here anymore, so expect some taunts from this face painter.

A dozen or so years from now, if all goes according to United’s bold new plans, the Black and Red will be celebrating their 25th year with their emergence as one of the elite clubs in this hemisphere. They will have become a serious contender that is regularly in the hunt for the biggest club trophies in Concacaf and South America. Maybe even a regular at the World Club Cup God willing.

I want some of what Mike's drinking!

I'll miss Christian, but I am so excited about this year's squad...I think I'll get over it soon enough!

Not trying to start anything, but I've never really understood this sentiment? Why taunt a player that was essential to your clubs support for a number of years (not to mention, the kind of guy who would drive up to NY to support his team with the Barra Brava). Did you also taunt Jaime Moreno during his year with the Metrostars?

So long as Gomez doesn't do something classless (i.e., Quaranta like crotch grabbing) when he returns, I think he should be cheered for his contributions to the club..... :)

We didn't have the chance, he was too busy scoring on us. ;)

I agree though, Christian holds a special place in the hearts of the Barra Brava. He's real close to some of our members and they took it pretty hard when they heard the news. I for one will shake his hand next time I see him.

IAWTP. I certainly don't want him to score on us; but unless he does something Quaranta-ish or Lisi-ish, I not only couldn't taunt him, I can't even fathom taunting him.

If the rumor of the terms of his deal are accurate, him moving on was great favor to DC. We potentially could get three better younger players in exchange.

I thought it was awesome when he came down to the BB. He showed alot of heart and great skill but the sentiment is that he plays for another team that will be trying to beat us. I agree, he is no Quaranta but he is still playing for an opposing team. Will you clap if he scores against us?

If I met him one on one or if he came over to the BB I would shake his hand but I am certainly going to try and get in his head when he comes to RFK. I want DCU to win the game and the ones wearing the Red and Black deserve my 100% allegiance and support.

I will applaud him when he is introduced, before the game. If he scores against us, I hope that the silence will be deafening.
