I am sure you guys know this kid, who made a name for himself in the Sub 17 last year where Ecuador finished 3rd in South America and won the Fair Play Award. He is compared to the likes of Adriano (when he was in good form). He just scored 2 goals in 2 games in the Swiss League for FC Basel, and he is only 18! Let's keep this topic and dedicate it to Felipe.

I saw him played when he came with the national team to the US to play against Peru. I was very impressed with him. I specially liked the way he and Benitez played together. Peru had no answer for those two. I think he is going to be a great player for Ecuador. Just in time to replace El Tin Delgado.

yeah, Tin will be missed, but in Caicedo, looks like we got a special talent who can succeed for Tin.

    heres another one..

    Man City 2 - Man U 1

Anyone see the game? Caicedo was subbed in the second half but I don't know how well he did (if he did anything at all). Anyway, I think this is Man U's second or third defeat of the season so the atmosphere at City must have been something else.

I tell you what, Noel and Liam Gallagher from Oasis must have been happy as hell...being from Manchester they are die hard City fans and hate Man U - off topic, I know. :)

    Which means;
1.)He sucked (we know he is elite)
2.)Team doesn't know how to play with him
3.)Team didn't trust him enough to carry the ball.
    4.)Caicedo was nervous.
    5.)?

he played the last 15 minutes off the bench, nobody can make a huge impact especially with the nerves of playing your first game in the PL against Man U at Old Trafford....the kid needs to start, or have longer time off the bench, then we can adequetely judge his performance...good for City at beating Man U at home, gives my Chelsea boys a chance to catch up to Arsenal!!!

I saw the game.... On da 1st ball he touched he threw a cano on scholes I think, continued the play and then got tacked...he couldnt get all that many touches considering city was back trying to protect the lead..he was the only man up...and man.u did manage to score in the 90th minute....let's hope on the next game he gets more time....

    Re: Man City 2 - Man U 1

LOL...Chelsea is the team I support in the EPL as well. I think a lot of it has to do with Ballack so I'm one of those bandwagon type fans for Chelsea. But I have been following them very closely over the last few years. It's hard not to when EPL news is available everywhere.

Anyway, Chelsea blew it by only managing a tie against a misguided Liverpool. Ballack should have scored that sitter he had!

    I also really liked J Mourinho's style. He's looking for a job, isn't he?? ;)

I do like Arsenal a bit too but I hate Man U!!

Getting back to Caicedo...yeah, came in as a late sub while Man U was giving everything they had being down 2-0 at home and while honoring the anniversary of the Man U players that died in the Munich air disaster in 58. They really wanted to win this - badly. So by the time Caicedo came in Manchester City was in full defence trying to hold the awesome result during their very own "classico" against the giants.

I'm sure Caicedo had little to work with. Manchester United eventually put one in at the end of the game but lost 1-2 anyways. If that game didn't get Caicedo's blood running nothing will. The rest of the games should be a cake walk!!

He'll do ok. Valencia is doing real well with Wigan, thought the team blows. UDLC and Reading are doing very poorly on the other hand. Reading is currently in the relegation zone and UDLC isn't even playing.

In the past, Delgado at Southampton, failed due to injuries, Kaviedes was his normal brat self and had his ups and downs with Crystal Palace but they eventually didn't want to pay for him, or something like that. He had some good games and played really well for the reserves as well. Chala pulled a Salas with the "Saints", barely played.

I think Caicedo will do well. Having experience in Europe already and being young will help.

I wonder how Basel feel about having sold Caicedo to Man City now that they lost a pretty good forward and have just crashed out of the UEFA Cup losing 5-0 on aggr. to Sporting from Portugal!
