It is my pleasure to once again start the college soccer letter of intent signing day thread in honor of this forum's guru/sensei Mr. Mibut. LOI's were accepted beginning at 7:00 ET this morning. As usual the football sites are overflowing with information and fax-by-fax coverage. The soccer sites and school athletic departments will trickle out the soccer stuff when they get around to it.
Add any links here to school class announcements.

Loyola is getting a real quality kid with MJ. He is not only a good versatile soccer player but a class individual as well.

TOWSON, Md. – A talented group of six newcomers, including three from the State of Maryland, have signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Towson University and play for the Tiger men’s soccer team, it has been announced by Coach Frank Olszewski.

Transfer Guilherme Costa of the College of Southern Maryland will join defender Joshua Spivey of Perry Hall High School and midfielder Steven LeVine of Loyola Blakefield High School from the State of Maryland. They will be joined by goalkeeper Chris Fenner of Osbourn High School in Manassas, Va. and midfielders Nicolas Roa and Javier Roa of Madrid, Spain.

The quartet of Yannick Salmon, Guilherme Dantas, Josh Carroll and Taha Mostafa will bring depth and experience to what shaped out to be a young and talented Scarlet Knight squad last year. In 2007, Reasso added a 12-member recruiting class which ranked among the nation's best and his expectations for this year's class of recruits is as lofty, calling it the best group in his 28-year career.

Didn't know David Murphy had transferred. Makes sense as I didn't see him at all near the end of last season for Wake...not even on the bench. From what I gather he seems to be very confident in his own abilities, but maybe not driven enough to feel like proving them in training.

The Class of 2012 includes three members of the two-time USYSA national championship team, Casa Mia Bays—midfield/forward Christian Barreiro (Baltimore, Md.) and defensive duo Thomas Brandt (Palmyra, Pa.) and Jake Levin (Columbia, Md.). The trio is joined by midfield/defender Eric Guo (Arcadia, Calif.) who participated in the Chinese-Taipei U-19 National pool and midfielder Nick Unger (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) whose FC Milwaukee team was a 2007 USYSA national finalist.

I'm just rubbin' 'em; I haven't put the clamps on yet.

But, if Evansville uses him as a forward - the release said he was "versatile" which is often code for "we're gonna move you to to CB and only put you up top when we're down a goal and hoofing balls up top" - and he is a good one, then yes, the clamps are going on!

Jacobs recruited Dudley and Loftus to Duke, right? If so, he has almost as big a hard-on for players with size as I do. ;)

As I stated, mine was a rumor. I heard it from a friend of his Mother. She could have been confused, but she sounded positive. Lansing was born in the OC, it is a shame he is not coming "home" to play.

I can't find anything official yet at UCONN, just this little blurb from Ray in his blog - "We are extremely excited about 2008 as we return nine starters and Karl Schilling. We have six players committed to come as freshmen and we expect a few more. We anticipate two or three "special" guys also to join our squad for the 2008 season."

I understand that Wake will announce:

    Nick Millington - U20
    Dan Wenzel - U17
    Luke Norman - U18
    Sean Haglund - ESP, AA
    Chris Estridge - ESP, AA
    Kyle Adams - ESP
    Doug Ryan
    Jesse Sokolow

Brek Shea was in this class until he went pro. Looks like they Deacs will remain competitive on the national scene.

Sandon's all time culprit here, Dave Masur, will probably continue to remain at the top of his list.
I know he's still quite unhappy about not getting the Red Bull job.
