I talked to morrow about the back three yesterday. they haven't played a game since T&T, I'm sure wagner being 19 isn't reading press about the pending formation change. left back and left wingback are the same in terms of who did and who will play there... Gbandi, Wags, Wagner.
Yeah, I just figured that Wagner would have been told something, who his competition is coming into camp, that type of stuff. Interesting that he didn't view Wallace as competition, that kind of goes along with Morrow's view of him as a defensive mid. So, what we have here is a discussion of wingbacks. We have a lot of central mostly defensive midfielders. We know we are after a striker, and that we aren't looking for an attacking mid. 3-2-2-3? midfield is 2 wingbacks and two central mids?
this Ali guy attacks from the back a ton. he'll even do it out of a three back situation. Stevie must want a Brazilian style team where any player is attacking.
That would be the plus side of having two strictly d-mids. Either one could drop back to cover a run from any of the CD's. If they can balance the numbers of defenders with attackers then they will overcome most of our objections to having twin d-mids. Leaving eight back all the time would lead to a boring season.
