It's stupid shit like this that pisses me off, and it riled me so much that I wrote to the stupid moron to see what he has to say for himself. Here's the letter. I bit my lip, but you can get the point of what I'm saying. Is anybody else getting as annoyed with this "Emirates library" shit as I am, when it's clearly not true? Rant over. For now.
I think you need to look at the big picture here. This guy wants to criticize Arsenal at any opportunity and it's obvious he can't find a way to direct it at our Football, therefore he tries to somehow criticize our atmosphere. To be honest our atmosphere this season has been better than all top EPL grounds combined.

I know you were not able to make it Skizz and it seems this Sherwood twat wasn't able to go to the Carling Cup match Dec 18th. Away supporters area full, Crackburn 1/2 empty and quiet. About 15% of our signing was "Shall we sing a song for you?"
i went to the man city game on saturday, and we easily out song the citizens for most of the game,,,, i dont know what the media are on about.
What I dislike is the fact that our former players have to prove their lack of bias by slagging us off whenever they seem to get a chance when they're on Sky or ITV. Alan Smith, Wrighty, even Merse has done it a few times. Always disappoints me. Also, very well written letter. Makes some great points and does a great job of conveying the points. Sherwood's a c*nt. My letter probably would have consisted of "You're a c*nt." So nice job.

It is just some dump clichee that will be associated with Arsenal sadly until the end of time. English league games may be quiet compared the the German league or games in Eastern Europe but there have been whole games in complete silence at OT or SB and Arsenal certainly is not one of the quiet clubs. Most of the time at least. And the SUN is a piece of trash. Don't even bother to read it. Though I understand your anger because papers like that form and carry on opinions and there are enough people dump enough and willing to believe them.
its an international week. its a shit journalist. theres nothing to write about. and its a sun writer. Id rather read the more accomplished James Lawton (the only journalist to predict we would win the league), Martin Samuel, Kevin McCarra and Patrick Barclay.
Its jealousy, on occasions the stadium goes quiet when everyone's jaws drop from our beautiful play, something they never get and therefore will never understand at Easilybored Park in Blackburn.
That's besides the point. For every journalist who isn't on our back there are 20 that are and that is the point I am making, not the fact that I had a go at one person. His remark pushed me over the top.
Nice work Skizz. I commend you for being rational within your letter. The following will not be so rational. Frankly this is the first year that i have ever to mute the commentators while watching a match. I cant handle them and all their jibes at us. Since we havent won a trophy in 2 years you would think the club is about to implode and take half of london with it. Along with the commentating im fed up with the english media across the board. They are so quick to criticize while heaping praise on Chelsea and Man Utd. Hell Liverpool even get off the hook more then us. If we were sitting in Liverpools position right now the media would be like a pack of wolves over a steak. Finally if anyone brings up the whole "Arsenal is why the English national team sucks" topic again im going to personally hunt you down and slit your throat in front of your children. Peace!
when they played at Fulham, the only thing you could hear on TV, were the Arsenal fans singing to Adebayor. The announcers were even remarking about it. It sounded great from this side of the pond.
You almost concede that Highbury was quiet....it was only called library because it rhymed. Its interesting the stereotypes for fans, I would never swap our fans for the so called "best fans in the world" at Newcastle whose actions this year speak louder than anything I can add to here. I have frequently seen the supposedly good fans (mainly the northern teams are dubbed this i have noticed) losing an important game by one goal and all you see is them standing with their heads in their hands while I know our boys in similar circumstances continue shouting them on. Pretty ironic that he should make that comment for the Blackburn game because Blackburn fans are well known for packing their stadium full with screaming fans.....oh no wait
I remember a clip they would show every Newcastle match of 2 fans abusing Fat Sam, and if they were Arsenal fans and yelling at Wenger they would be lynched. Useless prats. And of course Highbury was a library, it was owned by the Professor
I've certainly noticed media bias against Arsenal. The exact reason I don't know. Is it because ManU / Liverpool are England's darlings? Is it because Arsenal have a squad based on quality, instead of nationality? I dont know...
Blackburn fans? Rich. Ewood Park is the emptiest ground in football. There's 10,000 empty seats when Arsenal or Chelsea are there for God's sake and any sellouts they get against Liverpool or Man U are because their fans invade the place and buy all the tickets.

I think the whole anti-Arsenal sentiment is just pro-English/anti-French undertones that is why all the issues with Arsenal and "we must stop all the foreigners". Funny Chelsea was loaded with foreigners when they went back to back AND Man Utd's best player is a foreigner!!
Quotes about how quiet the fans are show that AW is doing all the right things at Arsenal. The media these days only get attention by printing inflamatory stories, so if all they can come up with is that the fans don't sing much, Arsenal are doing fine. It is annoying because we know better and love our club and supporters. But it is also a bit funny when you step back. Poor singing isn't much of an insult!
