I'm strictly a console gamer and I don't have a 360 or a PS3 (I can't seem to get the kitchen pass for one). Doesn't matter though, I'm still tearing through older games on the Xbox and PS2. But I've fallen in love with game like KOTOR I and II, plus Jade Empire. I almost grabbed Elder Scrolls III the other day. But I'm looking for suggestions for other games like these that have tons of game play and good replay. Anything to keep me from dropping the bones on a 360 just so I can buy Mass Effect. It's a sore subject in the house, so please don't ask me to eplain.

Anyway, if any of you fellow gamers that dig RPGs can throw me in the right direction, I'll send some rep to you. I'm almost finished with JE, and I may chew through it again. But I can tell that I'm going to need some new action soon.

    Thanks in advance.

KOTOR and JE were perhaps two of the best games I've ever played. I've got Elder Scrolls: Oblivion for the 360, and I like it (and it's got TONS of gameplay), but not as much as I liked the BioWare games.

Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions for you. It might be worth checking out ES; if it's anything like Oblivion, you'll probably get several hundred hours of gameplay out of it.

ES III supposedly has around 150 hours of gameplay, more if you get the Game of the Year Edition. I can easily get my hands on one, but I just started another round with JE. I got the special addition, so now I get to take on the empire as the Monk. I was only disappointed in JE's ending, but absolutely love the game. The best part is that I can't really see myself getting totally bored with any of the RPGs I currently have.

Anyway, found where I can specifically look up RPGs on Gamespot.com and I've gotten some other suggestions like Fable. I'm willing to give that one a shot. But I want a crack at ES III before I go there. Plus, who knows how long I'll have to go without a 360. It's been quite a battle in my house since Mass Effect came out. I wasn't that hot to get one until that game released. It's easier to convince my wife to let me go out for a night of debautery with the boys than let me buy that game system. Women.

I know you want console RPGs, but how good is your PC? Dare I suggest you get yourself addicted on WoW? ;)

Explain. Are you talking about gameplay, i.e. live action versus turn-by-turn fighting, or the overall story line, or the lack of dynamic path where you can choose how you play. I've never played any of the FF games before. I've recently discovered my love for RPGs in the last year. All of my gaming beforehand consisted of FPS and racing games. I'm sure there's a ton of untapped gaming experience I haven't explored yet.

well to be honest,im a die hard fantasy fan and long time r.p.g gamer and im talking about everything.....

there just totaly differant experiances in their own ways.im not being smart or anything bud but like all r.p.g's it's what you yourself put into and take out from these games makes or breaks the individual experiance.

just rent out the last final fantasy for a week and see how you get on :)

I just picked up Morrowind. Holy crap is that a big game. I'm kind of fumbling my way through it now. It's quite a bit different than KOTOR and Jade Empire. But I'm enjoying it. I'm looking forward to Friday when I can put the wife and kids to bed and knock out about 6-8 hours of uninterrupted play. :D

    suggestions:

Final Fantasy XII (or FFX if you'd rather go turn based)

Rogue Galaxy (i can't praise this game enough, quite recent & fantastic)

Dragon Quest VIII (if you want something a slower paced & a little old school)

i've got well over 100 hours on all of these games (178hrs on FFXII) money well spent! lol

Find a copy of Final Fantasy Tactics for the PS1 on Ebay. You won't be sorry.

Christ, I barely have time to play what I currently have on my plate. It's becoming painfully obvious that I'll never get to all of them.

    How's your Morrowind addiction? :D

Seriously, I remember when we got that game about 3-4 yrs ago. Wow, what a game. I LOVED it. Loved the open-ended play, loved the countryside, the freedom, the character options... even the somewhat-maligned combat mechanics were pretty fun in my opinion. It took me MONTHS to get over my addiction to that game.

We have a 360 but I haven't bought Oblivion yet. Honestly I'm a little scared to cause I know I'll get sucked in.

I've had to shelve it for a little bit. Between coaching two soccer teams, going to grad school, and building my blog, I haven't had time to really play. Maybe this weekend, though.
