    The offer has been made

If the MLS pusses out and sells him for only a 2 million transfer, the Chivas FO is stupid for letting it happen. The NE Revolution declined 2.5 for twellman. CUSA should not let the MLS railroad them so the can collect money.

Guzan is not the greatest keeper of all time (not yet), but he is certainly worth more than what Celtic values him at.

I agree!!! Thatis not enough money for the USMNT starter. They are only going to let him rot on the bench until the summer transfer, if they get rid of Boruc. We should keep him lone more season. In my opinion he is worth a lot more than Twellman. At least twice as much. If they Guzano go, it will be the biggest mistake ever.

I'm just hoping that they aren't using this deal to help C-bus pick up Zurawski from Celtic. This whole single-entity joke could bite us in the ass here. Watch Out!

Do not let El Guzano Go for anything less than a freaking king's ransom!
The dude is awesome and one of the reasons I love watching Chivas USA. MLS and CUSA will be making a big mistake if they let this fan favorite go.

What he went through in year #1, and how he grew into a stellar keeper is one of the most amazing displays of growing up in front of fans' eyes I have ever seen in any sport.

His net was a freaking shooting gallery for most of season #1, and we all thought the kid was horrible, but he showed more courage than most of us will ever display in a lifetime, hanging in there and single-handedly lifting the team into competitive form. His performance that year is the stuff of legends.

Cue is an idiot if he lets him go.

    SOMETHING YOU NEED REMEBER..............

Brad has ONLY 1 year left on his contract. he can go on a free tranfer after the 2008 season. Do you take the 2M now or nothing in a year?
If CUe/MLS can get Brad to resign for a few years NOW I would say go to hell but if he/his agent won't reup NOW you have to sell him.

Simply put, the FO has to sell him to the highest bidder. Credit Brad for not saying he wants to play here or prefers this team over that team, etc.

The M LS needs money and the FO has an obligation to ask for the maximum amount available for its most valuable player. Sorry Maykel.

I will say this, I will consider traveling to Scotland to him play for the bhoys.

    SHOW ME THE MONEY!!

Does Brad have any say in this? I know he has been upfront in his desire to move to Europe, but as well to have a very good shot at playing 1st team. I would think this offer is far too low, and he would do well to stay with Chivas to play and wait for next year.

It's not just me, here's what Galarcep says about our FO:

Chivas USA -- The Goats stand poised to lose MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Brad Guzan to Scottish champions Celtic, but there has been little noise about new foreign players coming in. At least not yet. With the new rules in place, you would expect the Goats to be a player on the foreign market, but the club's front office is untested and may be unprepared for the international market.

REMINDER: WE HAVE NO VIABLE PLAN B FOR GOALKEEPER AND WE STILL NEED A PLAYMAKER IN THE MIDFIELD. THIS IS ALMOST SHAMEFUL THAT DCU AND THE GALS ARE RELOADING AND THE FO IS ACTING LIKE EVERYTHING IS OK.

Cool, MLS should not let Euro clubs lowball them for players...

Ultimately, the player must sign for a new team, therefore, a cooperative negotiation is required. No player has to go to a club for which he does not want to play.

Did you forget that Eddie Johnson nixed a deal to Derby at least twice?

American owner, great coach, Birmingham as opposed to Glasgow and closer to London, EPL. I don't watch them much, but a very interesting turn of events.

I'd rather see him playing Champions League football on ESPN,....................to be honest. And under the tutelage of Boruc, even for a couple of months, would be one hell of a experience for him and for the future USMNT starter.

Aston Villa? Who gives a toss. Mid-table club, ugly kits, but at least a half-way decent manager.

Guzan is at the same Level as Memo Ochoa. If hewas Mexican, the airways would be saying he is the best GK in North America. Ochoa 15 million (LOL) Guzan 4 million (ochoa sales more STUFF for sure) but talent is close.

Who would you rather have coming out to collect a cross?

    Yeah, thought so.

Guzan is a MUCH better fit for the Premiership.

Memo should go to Barca--he's a helluva lot better than Victor Valdes.

    They both are.

There isn't a chance, even a small one, that a Guzan transfer would be blocked similar to the Twellman situation is there?

With these douchebags anything can happen. Blocking Twellman was messed up, they should have let him go. The worst part is that the Revs say it was MLS and MLS says it was the Revs. How motivated will Twellman be this coming season? He is pissed though!!!

I personally don't want Guzano to go, selfish of course, but I hope he does go and prove that he is the future. He will become the BEST the US has produced!!!

The BIG difference is Twellman has a couple of years left on his contract, Guzans is up after this season. If they DON"T do it he leaves on a free transfer next season. When Twellman get another offer after the 2009 season he will then be sold.
