Time to think about match night fun, Seattle fans. What are you going to do before / after matches in Downtown Seattle?
Realistically I'll be chugging alcohol in the comfort of my own home, then attempting to take the bus downtown for more beer/tailgate food. However, once I'm 21 I'll be joining you guys in the pubs, and what fun times they will be.
A pub, with finger food, and some friends. Looks like up to eight of us will coalesce into a regular group for each match. You'll recognize us, we'll be very loud, screaming at each other about soccer, sports, politics, music and the gaming industry. If you turn around and see a bunch of 30-something, and 40-something guys making a lot of noise and you wonder to yourself: "Good God, why do they not cut that group of louts off already?"...well its probably us.
Most likely tailgate with family and friends for weekend games. Weekdays games will be just the boys at the pub.
Beer with the hardcore at the pub or tailgate... maybe throw in some beer pong on a custom ECS table Getting into maximum support mode with the lads. Afterward, same thing whilst celebrating the three points won that day... and hopefully 24 Hour Church of Beer is playing a show afterward in a nearby bar
I'll be delivering mail out in the desert, then speeding over the mountains to get to the matches just as they start. Afterwards, I'll probably just drive home
If it's a weeknight, I'll probably be going to Collins Pub after work, and then heading down to Qwest with the owner just before the match. If it's a weekend, it'll be me and the boys coming over.
I know where I'm gonna be eating after matches... Two cheese a fry and a strawberry shake, awww yeah.
That is the truth!!! Def be hitting up some pubs on the way to the games thats for sure and unlike many other countries that hold professional football leagues you can drink at our stadiums
Dick's and Archie McPhee's are the only two places I go to every single time I am in Seattle. I hope to make it out there for a game in which case I will drink before the game, slow down drinking at the game and then drinking after the game. Places of said drinking will be determined by the various Seattlelites that I will be hanging out with.
Week night games I will most likely walk from the JFB to Qwest with a stop at Fado along the way. Weekends I am not sure about yet.
Since I will be having to walk on the Bainbridge Ferry I usually hit the old Fado's to have some Drink and then the loud walk to the field. Are there any other good pubs that show soccer in downtown area in walking distance from ferry?? I love Fado's but other places to hit could be fun to find too.
The ECS has been going to Fuel for home matches @ Qwest. We'll probably continue this tradition going into next season with tailgates during the nicer weather. Fuel is at 2nd and South Washington. http://www.fuelseattle.com/
Looking forward to it. Enjoying a Bell's Hopslam Ale right now and enjoying the hoppiness of it all. Don't know if can get Bell's out there. It is a MI brewery that just started being sold down here and has become a favorite of mine.
I'm very familiar with Bell's. No, you can't get it out here, but I'm fairly certain we can take care of the hops, however.
