Looks like he's moved up. Here's a story discussing his talks with the club:

Tidligere SIF-spiller Jamil Fearrington er i dialog med Sandnes Ulf om en overgang.

The club is now in the Norwegian second division after winning the third last season (which was the same division Fearrington was playing in with Stavanger IF).

Good news for Jamil if it goes through. Hopefully he'll show up here and give us the inside scoop. Good to see him moving up in the world.

Yes, good move for Jamil if it happens. He seems like a nice kid and I wish him nothing but the best.

If I know my Norwegian geography as well as I used to, Stavanger and Sandnes are really close to each other. 10-20 miles? So it should be a short move for him. I was near there biking once. I think (could be wrong) that its an area known for biking. It was a long time ago.

Good for Jamil! I remember reading some of his posts from a while back and he seemed like a super nice kid. Was really patient in answering questions from others as well.

It's great to see him moving up the "ladder". Hopefully he'll swing by and give us an update on things. :)

    Hey everyone ;)

    I'm back :) hehe

Thanks for all the kind words. I'm really happy about the move too.
I settled in pretty quickly with the club and teammates and now were just workin hard to get fit for the start of the season. We beat Chris Rodd's team this friday 1-0, but I didn't see any playing time. Me and the player I'm competing against to play the right back are taking turns playing here in the pre-season games. I'm confident that with hard work, the position will be mine when the season starts.

There was no transfer-fee involved, because I had only signed a short contract with the former club. Didn't wanna be tied up to a low-division club for too long.

Ya'll just shoot if you have any questions?

    Best regards,
    Jamil!

Hi, Jamil. Congratulations on the big move.

I have a question. What is the typical week like for a professional such as yourself?

How many hours do you have to practice?
Do you have to do strength training? Or aerobic training?
Do you have to review video?

You don't have to go into so much detail; just a quick reply.

    Thanks and again, congratulations.

Well, the club I joined isn't a full-time professional club. Some players either study or work part time on the side, so the amount of training reflects that.

Monday: Practice at 9.00 am for about 1 hour
Practice at 4.30 pm for about 2 hours.

Tuesday: Practice at 4.30 pm for about 2½ hours

Wednesday: Practice at 9.00 am for about 1½ hour
After practice we eat lunch together and do video reviews of previous games.
Practice at 1.30 pm for about 1½ hour.

Thursday: Practice at 4.30 pm for about 2 hours

    Friday: Practice at 3.00 pm.

    Saturday: Match or training

    Sunday: Match or day off

In these practices we have a lot of stamina running training, but strength and weight lifting is our own responsibility. For my own part I like to do either yoga or pilates training each day when I get up. It boosts your metabolism, tightens your body and helps remove milk acids from previous days training. Aside from that I try to do strength training thrice a week.

    Hope that answers your questions...

Thanx, Jamil. It's great getting insight from someone who makes a living playing the game.

I'd love to follow up on that if possible, Jamil.

I know you are recently promoted from the third division, so I'm not surprised that you would not be fully professional.

But I'm curious -- are all/most first division clubs fully pro? And what about the rest of the clubs in your division?

Good luck! Win that starting job.

Most clubs in our division are full-time professional and I believe that if we survive this first year in the adecco-league, we will be full-time pro within 2 years. We're from the 10th largest city in Norway and we're the biggest team in town, so the potential for a big team is there. With the right people running the club, I think Sandnes Ulf can become a permanent contestant in the best league within a forseeable future...
