I want to hear people's opinion on this: Pato made his debut with AC Milan a few weeks ago and was called up by Brazil for a friendly.

Pato: 18 Y/O (9/2/1989), 5' 10.5"(179cm), played 26 matches for Internacional of Brazil and score 12 goals, scored 3 goals at the last u20 wc. (Source Wikipedia)

AC Milan strikers: Gilardino, Inzaghi, Ronaldo, some dude named Willy and Kaká but he's used as a midfielder.

Jozy: 18 Y/O (11/6/1989), 6'1" (185cm), has played 35 games (started 23) with RB New York and scored 13 goals in all competitions, scored 4 goals at the last u20 WC. (Source metrofanatic.com)

Real Madrid strikers: Raul, Ruud, Robinho, Soldao, Higuaín and Saviola. The last three get little time in the lineup even though its normal for Real play with 3 up top, so one would argue that they're not important players (except for Higuaín).

Are you asking whether or not Jozy could break into Real's lineup or get minutes for them?

    Didn't Taylor Twellman have a great U-20s?

On the issue of Jozy he clearly has the physical tools to make the jump to a top 3 Euro-league. Real Madrid though? We'll see.

In the case of Pato, it's safer to buy Brasilian. Better track record.

You know, I've never thought of it that way. I always saw Donovan's return to MLS as a personal decision that did not reflect US players but I was way off.

I wonder if a mathematical equation could be devised that would tell us exactly how many posts it takes for any thread, no matter how seemingly unrelated it is, to devolve into a "Donovan is a sissy" or a "Bradley vs. Edu vs. Clark" argument? And maybe it could even predict the likelihood of which of these directions it would take. We could throw in a couple more options as well. ie. "MLS vs Euro development," "Rossi: American or not?" etc.

We need to add all of these into one sentence. This sentence can be added to every thread just to get it out of the way.

    Oh yeah, well I think...

Feilhaber should stay and continue to fight for his job just like Convey did as well as Adu and Bradley (although he got help from nepotism) and not be like the sissy boy Donovan because then he will be a true Yank Abroad unlike Rossi who, like Jozy, will be a true world-class player that does not suck, unlike Gooch.

shouldnt we mention the coaching situation?? feels that comes up quite a bit... i mean i know we touched on neoptism, but this was always one of Whip's frequent post

    *clears throat*

Bob Bradley cannot coach at this level, we need to bring in someone who's not american....

well played good sir, well played. This is what we're gonna post at the beginning of the Mexico gamethread exactly as follows:

This is a menu to express your view of the game to save time, bold and italicize as necessary so we dont have to read your bullsh*t

Bob Bradley cannot coach at this level
    Bob Bradley is a genius

Gooch is clumsy and giving up stupid fouls!
Gooch is absolutely shutting down the middle!

The only reason Bradley is out there is because of his dad
Bradley is making life miserable for their midfelders

Landon Donovan is stagnant, he wouldnt be if he played in europe
Landon Donovan is the best player on the US squad

    WHY isnt Jozy Altidore starting
THIS is why Jozy Altidore isnt starting

    WHY is taylor twellman starting
..........WHY is taylor twellman starting LOL :p

Freddy Adu should be starting this game, we need his tactical awareness
Freddy Adu needs to put on a bit of bulk, he's shoved off the ball too easily

Feilhaber/Edu/Clark/Adu should be starting in the middle instead of Feilhaber/Edu/Clark/Adu

    Clint Dempsey needs more grit
Clint Dempsey has found his grit

Why is Pearce/Bornstein starting above Pearce/Bornstein?

    Rossi is a yank
    Rossi is not a yank

I don't think it is insulting to Jozy to say that its pretty much just common sense that if a guy is the next big thing coming out of Brazil the overwhelming odds are he's gonna be a star. The only question is how big? When have the top handful of talents from Brazil not been serious players? On the other hand, a youngster coming up from the US where exactly ZERO top notch (as in top 4-5 players in the world, at least a couple of whom are generally Brazilian) players have arisen has a whole lot more questions to answer.

If you're laying your money on the line, you'd have to see the American as way more of a long shot.

Real Madrid has a little better front line than AC Milan.....

otherwise, if Josmer Altidore was sold to AC Milan he could do the same thing Pato has/is doing.
