Hey Irish fans, just wanted to let you know that I took control of Ireland in World Football manager...they were in 50th place...and I only am using players who play in Ireland and defeated Singapore 3-0, and drew with Denmark 1-1, both on the road. I even held Denmark to 1-0 until the 85th minute. Keep in mind as well that this is about 6 years in the future so most of the good Irish players now are too old. Oh yeah...i have moved up to #35 in World Rankings.
Update: I lost in the World Cup final to Sweden 2-1 after holding a 1-0 lead at the half. I used a Christmas tree formation in every match with this team cuz there are no great players. It was with O'Shea...he was like 32....I played him at CB because there are seriously no decent CB's anymore...plus I played Michael Timlin at left back where he actually has 5 assists in like 6 matches. Ian Cross was my leading scorer ....don't even know who that is. Here was what the formation looked like ..........GK.......... RB...CB...CB...LB. ...MC...MC...MC. .....AMC..AMC... ..........FC....... backs making runs up to mid field. Love the Christmas tree!!!
Jesus christ what has this forum come to. I've won the World Cup with Ireland many times on the hardest difficulty many times in FIFAs 98, 01, 03, and 06, does anyone actually care? If one person here honestly tells me they do care I will (aside from pitying them greatly) apologize to this guy (omsdogg). Does this have any place in this forum? This isn't just because he is an MLS and, likely (judging by Fulham) a USA fan as well, either. It could be I'm way out of line with this and just tired and cranky, you tell me
Certainly doesn't mean they care, they probably came upon this topic the same way I did, looking for information on the real Irish manager. Not suprisingly, neither gave it a serious response
Some folk on here don't think too highly of the MLS here and probably a bit too highly of the Eircom League...lol
