Arsenal America will take on NY Spurs in a friendly supporters derby in Manhattan at Pier 40's Courtyard East pitch, Sunday 10 Feb. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00am.

    http://www.fohrp.org/fohrp2.php?screen=40main

This pitch at Pier 40 doesn't take reservations until 10:00am (at which time our match must be finished). That means the space, while technically open, is first-come, first-served, wait-your-turn. If for some reason it is clear that we won't be able to play at 8 or 9 (since we have to be finished by 10) we will head up to Central Park and find a suitable patch of grass.

You must be a member of Arsenal America to play. The match will be 11v11. If you would like to join the squad, please respond to this thread and give an indication of what position/s you play.

Rick B will captain the Arsenal America side.

I'd love to be in on this. Only issue, anyway I can get a ride down with someone from the Boston area who might be going? If I can, it'd be anywhere in midfield or centre defense. I'm flexible.

FYI - there are also two field turf pitches downtown that should be free - one is on chrystie and rivington (nike field) and another on chrystie and grand (chinatown soccer club).

My best friend can play and is one heck of a player...he is an Arsenal supporter and plays CF. He has scored 81 goals in 37 games in our indoor league.....this kid can play and he is 29yr old. LMK if he can take my place.

Yes, each side will wear its traditional tops. If any Gooners don't own the home jersey, a red shirt will suffice. Aesthetically, if ever you've had a reason to invest in the home top, this is it! ;)

wwnyc, that's very helpful. Either would be preferable to using cones in Ctl Pk.

Would some NYC Gooner be open to putting me up for a night, cause it doesn't seem like there's too many Boston Gooners coming down for this. Otherwise I don't think I could do it...

Nick, my cousin Dave (a fellow Gooner) lives in the East Village. I was going to ask him about crashing there. Let me see if he'd be willing to put both of us up...

Reminder: please try to have an Arsenal home top (any season) or at least a red shirt for the match. Ideally, the full home kit (I'll geek out!).
