Does anyone have any real idea of the direction the Rapids are wanting to go?

why are theygetting all these defensive players? They admitted to the problems being with the offense and yet nothing. Can we get another State of the Rapids address or another Q&A with someone? Can we ask these questions that should be asked at a time like this? Especially at a time when they are asking us to fork over thousands of $$ for something we dont even get any real info about.

The Rapids want to sell more tickets and sign more sponsorship agreements.

I maintain that FC's strategy is to try to hold the score down and hope to get a few good chances each game.

    Clavijo wants to play Bora-ball.

Osorio was quoted saying the same thing recently.

I think this is Clavijo's approach to the game.

Defensive football is where the game is at right now. It's evolved there over the past 20 years really. So, I know that people snidely remark that this is Clavijo's strategy but I think he's right in line with many other coaches.

It doesn't mean we shouldn't play offence or that we don't desperately need a strong and consistent striker and offensive midfielder. It does mean that Clavijo is in line with many coaches on the issue.

Some people have interpreted the Rapids inability to win consistently to mean they don't want to. That's possible, but I think a more likely answer is they want to but simply have failed.

Wanting to win is easy to fix, knowing how, and then executing, is much harder.

I love how all the other teams in the league are chatting about who is going to be their next big signing...while we chat about which one of our veterans will any experience or skill at all is going to be shipped off.

So far we pretty much have nothing to show for this off-season. Our roster hasn't improved at all. I keep waiting to see if something will happen to restore my faith in this team...

    ...still waiting.

I'm simply dumbfounded how these idiots running this outfit can be so f-ing stupid and still keep their jobs.

Rapids direction? So far it appears to be SOUTH! Pisses me off, breaks my heart but that is my gut feeling.

I am hoping there will be enough behind the scenes stuff to be announced shortly that will change my mind on this but I doubt it. I think the draft shows this. I know they are a crap shoot, I know a good or bad combine can raise or lower a players draft position. I know that there may be some roster moves taht we are not privy to that might help some of the decisions make sense - but I just really, rally have trouble believing this based on the past decision making of the folks in charge.

Go South young man - well, hell at least the weathers nice, the girls are tall....

So, 2 months after Plush's Q&A section, what has changed?

Which is what one does when they don't have enough talent in the midfield and up top and/or tactical knowledge to play a game where the midfield holds on to the ball and probes for goal scoring opportunities.

Actually, I believe the consultant they have been using is the NoWhere Man from the Beatles' Yellow Submarine.

Just a question that relates to the direction the Rapids are going: Does any one know the status of Hernandez? I noticed on the closed roster thread that Hernandez was listed as Out Of Contract, but with question marks next to it.

I heard from someone in the RFO that he is staying; it was Cancela and Sanneh that were dropped.

    G'Day...Ron

Sorry to hear that, but thanks, Ron!!! I'm sorry because I think that Niiko is probably considerably on the downside of his career. After being sometimes productive and then relegated to the bench, it is pretty hard to come back to anything resembling what you once were. I would prefer to see his spot filled with a young player that has an up side.

    jamiest ********er alive....

Oh, sorry, getting off topic. :D

To me the direction of the Rapids is dependent on whether or not Clavijo's contract actually expires in the middle of the season.

Ah, so you meant "jammiest" (most jammy), not "jamiest" (most jamie).
