Has Red Bull New York ever played an exhibition-game or something against Red Bull Salzburg from Austria?

Does Fortuna play at LTU Arena?

    Most of their games!

Well as both teams are owned by the same person as far as I know and other European teams (like Celtic and Chelsea amongst others) played games in the US from Coast to Coast in the past, I didn´t expect this question to be too stupid...however, if it is, a simple "NO" or "NEVER" would have been a sufficient answer (by the way, in that case the thread would have been dead already)!

    Sorry for bothering you guys!

    You´re the men...

The teams are not owned by a person (Mateschitz) but by a company (Red Bull). [which has some certain advantages btw, e.g. such a large company does not die as a person has to...]

AFAIK RBNY are going to Salzburg in February and play a friendly (more like an "exhibition") against the RBS Juniors (2nd team of Salzburg playing in the "Erste Liga", the 2nd highest league in Austria).

Why not against the 1st team? This is no "depreciation" of the NY-Team but there is simply no time. The schedule is very thight and there are many national team friendlies.

Furthermore the stadium and the training facilities in Salzburg are archetypes (models) for the ones built in NY/NJ so the RBNY-players and staff are going to take a look at what they can expect.

Short clip overviewing the training center in Salzburg

Why not play against each other and plan to do so a year or so in advance in planning and maybe a home and home game? I say why not?

That´s what I meant (or maybe during an opening tournament for the Red Bull Park or the expanded stadium in Salzburg), but as I´ve learnt here, it´s a stupid idea!

Really? I thought the LTU was too big for a Regionalliga team .

I don't think it is a stupid idea, in fact I think it will definitely happen but it's too early for New York at this stage both from the team and stadium viewpoint. ;)

Yeah, actually it is, nebertheless Fotuna plays a lot of games there right now. They´ll probably have an all-time-attendance-high for Regionalliga when they play against Wuppertal next month and as the LTUarena lost it´s other main-user (Rhein Fire), they might be happy to have as many Fortuna-games there, as possible...

I would hope, the Opening of the Red Bull Park will be an exhibition game (RBS would be good) and not just a regular MLS game. Let the curious come out then, and go home and stay home.

Yeah, too bad NFL Europa went under. At least they still have DEG MetroStars.

PS. Altbier blows Kolsch out of the water.

Ja, not having NFL Europa around anymore sucks!

And the Metro Stars will never leave or be shut down!

    PS: it definitely does! :D
