With DC either signing or soon to sign Gallardo, Gomez's days are numbered.

Should we make a play for him, I know he played for DC, and is a crybaby at times, but he has had two pretty good seasons in a row (14 goals 11 assists and league MVP in 2006) and (10 goals 9 assists in 2007).

The bad about this would be he plays the same postion as Blanco, so I don't think he and Blanco would get a long (But with Blanco's last year with this team (possibly) Gomez could be the furture playmaker for this team after Blanco leaves.

    What do you think?

33 years old and he wants a salary north of $ 300K. hard to imagine that the Fire want to put that $$$ into the a-mid with Blanco here too.

Gomez turned down a 2 year guaranteed deal last season from DC, which was for $ 300-350K per season.

My guess is that someone ends up paying him something close to $ 300K, but I don't think the Fire will and I can't blame them at that price. I'd be much, much more interested at $ 200K though.

So what? You took Blanco on the team after the shit he's done to USA players in the past.

I'm pretty sure Blanco has spit a time or seven. Most recently the Gold Cup.

Difference is spitting on some random national team player is a bit different than spitting on CJ Brown in the playoffs. At least in a Fire context.

I don't think CJ and ol' Escupito would get along so great. Not to mention pairing him with Temo is a bit problematic.

Totally fine. CJ was'nt there. The Mexican NT and USNT both have alot of respect for each other...and if they can forgive maybe you can too.
