Is this the time for experiments Bob ? This is the question that everybody need to ask to our federation. Where is our consistance ? where is our desire to sustain our superiority ....Why now ? Why do experiment agains our archirival.? ..Why expose our team to a traumatizing azzwhoop ? Or a mayor injury on Landon....Why are we pairing Landon with so many unproved players ?

The list that came out this week is just a practice squad not the final roster.

You need more than 11 tested players to compete on the world stage. Why only prepare 11? Great job bob.

Well, it worked out last year, and we could win this year even with a primarily strong MLS side, but i really dont want to experiment against Mexico, and take a really big chance at losing, but it is just a friendly, Vs Mexico.

It's just a friedly, frankly winning doesn't matter, this is to see who can help us in Qualifying and nothing else really, we are bringing in a few Euro's to help out as it is, we know guys like Dempsey, Bocanegra, Howard etc. can help in Qualifying it does us no good to just call in your top 15 or so guys every time.

If not now, then when do we experiment? You can't both bring more youth into the team and avoid experimenting at the same time. And better to experiment now than in World Cup qualifiers.

The only reason I care about this game is to see how Mapp does.

There is one experiment I would try, and that is Ricardo Clark at RB, aside from Cherundalo we really have nobody, Moor is ok but nothing special, Wynne could be good but is not ready yet, Spector needs to be moved centrally, and Simek see Moor in my opinion. Clark is very athletic, a strong tackler with good size and decent speed, his only fall back is he is not incredibly technical and mostly there is just so much depth at CM, this could really help our team in my opinion, and this is the one experiment I would try, also I am putting 4 Euro's in the lineup (plus Altidore being called in from U-23 Camp) I would like to see which seems the number Bradley will bring:

    ---------------Guzan------------------
    Clark---Robinson----Spector----Corrales
    Donovan-----Bradley----Edu-----Convey
    -------------------Adu-----------------
    -----------------Altidore---------------

    Subs:
    Cronin
    Wynne
    Parkhurst
    Mapp
    White
    Rolfe
    Twellman

Adu definatly will not be with the 23's, that camp is for domestic players preparing for qualifying, and you have way to many Euro's.

    line-up i'd have gone with:

    (3) GK: Guzan, Pickens, Seitz
    (10) DF: Goodson, E. Robinson, Spector, Pearce, Dunivant, Moor, Wynne, Parkhurst, Conrad, DeMerit
    (9) MF: Clark, Edu, Kljestan, Mastroeni, Simms, Mapp, Alvarez, Holden, White
    (6) FW: Rolfe, Adu, Cooper, Altidore, Donovan, Davies

    ----------Altidore----------
    ------Adu------Donovan----
    --Kljestan--Edu--Clark------
    Spector---------------Wynne
    -------Conrad--DeMerit-----
    ------------Guzan-----------

Bench: Pickens, Goodson, Parkhurst, Mastroeni, Alvarez, Mapp, Cooper

this is a typical post by whip, why are people so shocked by it??

it is a friendly in the middle of the MLS off season.... everyone knows BB is bringing up a solid MLS based squad during this period..... this should come as NO surprise to anyone.... as far as an "ass whopping", a MLS dominated squad has beaten mexico before, they can do it again.... not to mention there will be at least 4-5 Euros being added, and i can only assume they'll be starters (MB, Adu, Etc...)

and lets not forget, even if we do lose, ITS JUST A FRIENDLY...

i would rather have players like Boca and Clint stay with Fulham to avoid possible injury as they are needed to aid in Fulham's fight against Relegation.... id much rather Fulham stay up in the EPL so they can continue to get top flight Exp.......

again out of this squad, there are possible canidates for WC '10... what with LD, Edu, Clark, Kljestan, Guzan, Parkhurst, hell even Conrad barring injury and old age :p

how many times have you 2nd guessed BB's ability as a coach Whip?? how many times has he proved you wrong... we may lose, but theres always a quality chance we wont....

clark plays 1st team for houston..... has Zizzo made 1st team yet?? i like Zizzo and hope he gets a chance, but seeing as you are HARPING on not wanting to experiement, ill have to say Clark is the more solid choice....

funny how you are willing to experiement for certain players, but claim others arent ready.....

So first you say in your initial post don't experiment, then you say put Zizzo in for Rico? Sounds like an experiment to me...

I enjoy every time the US plays and respect all opponents. HOWEVER, there is no such thing as a friendly against Mexico. :)

LOL, nope!:D And in this game, is when we start a new leaf. We need to teach Dos Santos and Vela the Mexican ass whooping, they need to start getting used to it!

Exactly. Not to mention that Clark was our best player in the Copa and was the game changer that won us the Gold Cup final.

Not when points are on the line.

Costa Rica thrashed the B-teams we fielded against them in both of the last two Hexagonals. In 2001, an experimental team (after we qualified) only managed a draw against Trinidad & Tobago. In 2005, an experimental team drew Guatemala.

We can't afford to drop points in the qualifiers. Sure, if we qualify early we get a couple games to experiment, but until then we need to aim to win every game. Still better to experiment in the friendlies.

Experiments should be about moving few pieces at the time not the whole team....What about Sal Zizzo prowling on the right hand side he really did an excellent job on the U 18
