    http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=560322

Milan seem to be playing the same game with us over Ramos that we played with Kaka over the last 2 summers :)

p.s: - can any moderator please correct the typo in the title please ... sorry :-(

Re: Sergiao Ramos to Milan & other transfer rumours thread

    - And who can blame them?
But it's actually quite simple... Bid his buyout clause (€180M) and then convince him to join. If he agrees, fine. If they are reluctant to bid his release clause or if he turns them down, fine. Then no need to explore it further.

Great! .. Now we can see the name "Milan" or even better "Sergio Ramos to Milan" everytime we log on this board. I seriously doubt other forums have us in their transfer title whenever we are linked with one or two of their players.

About the article, Goal.com claims that:

Interview with the man himself on Real Madrid.com 1 week ago from today:
    Sauce AKA Source: http://www.realmadrid.com/articulo/rma46192.htm

Lets take it 1 step further. Pedja Mijatovic on Radio Marca:

Goal.com and Corriere dello Sport's claims don't go hand in hand with what Mijatovic and Sergio Ramos are saying.

The difference being that we all know Ramos dosen't want to and won't be leaving for Milan, whereas the same can't be said about Kaka and his comments these past couple of years.

As you have already explained with those other quotes ... and also as part of the title says ... its a rumour thread. ;)

    Anwyay....

AS is reporting something quite funny. Apparently a group of peñas have gotten together to send Cristiano Ronaldo's mom some flowers and a nice little note. This was led by a group of 25 peñas that represent the 1,000+ peñas around the world. Nice touch!

Cadena SER just said Garay has turned down a 15m offer from Olympique Lyonnais because he REALLY wants to play for us. Portugal (ex-Racing coach and now one of our suits) has apparently convincing that a RM offer will be forthcoming at the end of the season.

It is great news...But this leads me to think that Cannavaro will no longer start next season, and what about Metzelder, will he replace Canna's place or Garay will do the honours?

Next season, we'll have a very solid, young and experienced backbone of the team.

Also, would Torres remain as a squad player for the rest of his time here? I don't see him as starting material for Real Madrid, he just hasn't got that edge, if you know what I mean...

Either way I think Metzleder will stay but to anserw your question, Garay>Metzelder.

    Henize or Marcelo?--Garay--Pepe--Ramos

Jesus that's one hell of a backline and young if Marcleo can improve even more so to take over the LB spot.

what do you guys think of acquiring Ricardo Carlvaho? Best defender in the Prem last year imo. Experienced/high quality CB who may want to leave Chelsea at the end of the season. Contrary to popular belief, football players dont die at age 29.

Of course.. everything depends on what position Sergio Ramos ends up at

De puuta madre. A promising 22 year old central defender is always welcome.

I just want to remind everyone that my campaign's sporting director, macaluca, was the first to bring this player to our attention.

I would like both of them ( Garay and Carvalho ). Canna is probably leaving at the end of the season and Metz is useless ( glassman ). Ramos-Garay-Pepe-Marcelo is amazing line up but too young, there is where Carvalho comes in :D.

^ Does that mean your campaign is putting him over Campo?

I think Garay is a great player, but am I the only one who thinks he might not be the best fit here (assuming that we are talking about a replacement for Cannavaro)? We have seen it before with Ramos in the centre and this season we have also seen it with Pepe: Without the experienced Cannavaro to command them they can seem a bit lost at times. I'm not sure Pepe is ready to lead Madrid's defense. Maybe we should be after a Cannavaro-type instead of yet another talent.

I dont think its a certainty that Cannavaro leaves after this season.

It will be very interesting to see what happens in the offseason with Cannavaro. The reup for his contract triggered after he played in a certain number of matches this season (30? 20? something like that), but although he opened the door to staying (even hinting that he could see himself retiring at Real Madrid), he decided to wait to make a decision about next year and beyond in the offseason. His brother, who plays for Napoli, which is his probable other destination, insists he will return to Napoli, but Cannavaro knows better than to shut down any options.

I think his form this year, including his ability to stay fit when the rest of the defense (except for Ramos) seem to be dropping like flies, show that although he's 34, he has a few years left at the top level. Pepe, Marcelo, Sergio Ramos, and Metzelder could do nothing but benefit from spending more time learning how to conduct a defense from Cannavaro (Heinze has the ability to lead, as well, but he obviously has serious injury problems). This year he wanted to play less matches in order to prolong his career, so keeping him would still allow the younger guys a lot of playing time.

He's a very good defender, not exactly world class yet but you never know. The reason people harp on about his offensive abilities is because that's what sets him apart from the next good young CB, his awesome offensive abilities too.

Can't hurt to be threat at both ends of the pitch.

I agree...and with what JR is a Galactico said.
I think Canna will stay another season, but the idea that he can play another 50 odd games is not something I would base my defence on.

Ramos can stay at RB, likewise Heinze at LB.

Garay gets time to develop rather than being thrown in at the deep end, Canna can play fewer games and we get extra cover....that's win, win, win as far as I'm concerned.

As for Garay.....tall, strong, quick, good in the air, good on the ball. Still prone to the odd mistake but that should not deflect from how good a player he is and could become.
Despite being a lot taller, he does remind me of Ayala at times in how he plays....that desire to win the first ball, to get in front of the forward...maybe it's an Argentinian thing (though to be fair no one else has said they see it:eek:) but every so often that's the impression I get.
His offensive and dead-ball abilities are well documented.

Also, just to add, he has been known to play RB as well.

Ribery joined Bayern last summer inspite of no champions league football. And if I am not mistaken he is already become a fan favorite there ... I dont he will move again so soon ...

    Now Quaresma ... hmmmm
