http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/01/24/AR2008012402163.html?hpid=sec-health ...in California (Is it legal anywhere else) Now, I'm no tie-dyed in the wool, pachouli wearing, long hair, but doesn't this seem to be a slippery slope. Why not fire people with depression for mood enhancers, schizophrenics because they may become psychotic. Seriously, pot must be the most over-rated "danger" in the world. Based on the schizophrenia website I checked out, cat poop can be more dangerous.
I don't think it's that dangerous, but certainly if I find one of my workers smoking medical marijuana in my warehouse I think I should have the right to fire them.
That's fine, in an instance where the impairment caused by inhalation could be a factor in injury or loss of life. The article itself addresses usage in the work place vs usage, then coming to work. But again, with the amount of other legal mentally enhancing legal drugs out there, is it fair to pick out this one?
