Since the time is starting to grow near. I thought I would start a thread to see how many people may be interested in playing spring soccer. There have been thoughts of creating 2 teams one that is more competitive then the other. Hopefully this thread will give us an idea of how many people are interested. Just an FYI that the league cost about $65 to play if I remember correctly. Hope to see you all out on the pitch come March
I'm definitely in again for the Spring season! If we have a ton of people signing up, I could see making two teams, but I'd hate to see us lose some of the cohesion we started to have at the end of last season. Plus having plenty of subs is always a plus! I'm just wondering, though, who is going to take over for Dillon on this?
dave took the reigns early on last season. i remember seeing a post of his recently where he stated he was retiring from playing ... dunno if that was sarcasm or not. i would like to think organizing the spring season and team(s) would be in his capable hands, especially considering he now knows the guys who run the league, and has been in contact with them regarding last season's deposit and using it towards the next one.
I won't be in again, but someday when my kids are older I'll give it a go.... Of course that will be 2018. (when I'm 35) Dills, love the new BW Cescalicious avatar...
I'm definitely in, and my ultra-tall friend Neal (you may remember him from the Fairmount Park picnic) wants to play.
Is it possible to play if you don't have a car, and live in Pennsport? (south philly, east near the river) How difficult is it to get to games? (not for me, my husband)
the fall season games were played off state street, north of the cottman avenue exit of I-95. i would think public transit is an option ... or carpooling with other SoBs in the area.
I may be able to fill in here and there. I work some Saturdays early, but I'd be glad to help out whenever I could.
I may be able to find an out of shape striker. The striker is good but just overwieight but still has the shot and the foot skills and natural nack of putting the ball in the net.
You should never be bored. That means you're not doing it right. You should be talking to your defense.
Miguel wants to play. Hes inshape and has the foot skills so we could put him up front. Hes a solid Center mid as well.
Ok, the more I think about the more I'm up for the job. I just need to sharppen my skills over the next few months. Who wants to help?
