Parkhurst and Twellman have been called for the US/Mexico camp.

So has ex-Rev (damn that's weird) Pat Noonan.

Anyway, this group of 21 was all at the Sweden camp as well.

Just to clarify, this is only the players for the camp as of right now, the European-based players (the big ones, not from Norway and such) will be added closer to match-day.

Cristman's been called in for the U-23 camp.

So if we lose Cristman in the summer to the Olympics ... and we lose Twellman to a qualifying camp ... who's the best Rider we can put in for the Revs?

Assuming the Fulham guys and others whose teams arent firmly entrenched in the middle of the table dont get the call, this is what I'd like to see.

    ----------Guzan----------
    Dolo--Gooch--Parkhurst--Spector
    -----Clark-----Bradley----
    Donovan-----------------Convey
    -----------Adu----------
    --------Twellman---------

He didn't call up all his big guns. Some potential vital members of the team were left abroad.

I'd give Altidore the start over Adu.

    1) A general comment - I don't consider the Euro players "the Big ones" unless they've gained weight by eating crappy food. The MLS players are every bit as good, and in many cases better, then the Euro based players.

    2) BB BETTER start solving the midfield problem or the US is going nowhere. We have not seen any combination there that provides any service for any forward. You can hve the best forward in the world ahead of our lot and they'll never see the ball

    3) Having Twellman in the mix MUST be drawing pages of negative comments on the Nat forum. I don't want to even go over there right now. I suggest that the "Doc" venture over there and blow some sunshine you know where. At least those of us that believe that he can play (I'm one) can feel safe putting him in a starting lineup in this forum.

I think it's funny that people want Johnson starting over Twellman all the time, last year they combined for a whopping 3 goals! The USMNT has no true and true strikers, which is both good and bad. We have goals coming from mostly everyone, with Landon being the only consistent goal-scorer. I think that's always been the beauty of the USMNT, we can provide attack from practically every player. Sure I'd love it if Twellman could repeat his club form on the international game, but people need to open their eyes (NT board) and realize that Twellman not scoring isn't a bad thing, focus on his actual performance.

That's my early morning rant I'm too afraid to post on their board without getting ripped to pieces:D

You're right, of course, but that would not stop the peeps on the USMNT boards from ripping you a new one.

I really stopped going over there with any regularity after the World Cup and haven't been in over a month or two. If you think the arguing and skepticism is big here, please do yourself a favor and NEVER venture into those boards. All you'll be doing is booking an appointment with Soccer Doc.

Until Altidore or someone else establishes themselves, to me Twellman is the best option. I'm not saying this as a good thing about Twellman, it's just by default. For about the last 2 years or so, neither he or EJ have scored(except for the random goal here and there against CONCACAF minnows,) and the way I look at it, at least Twellman attempts to do other stuff and has a good work-rate, EJ just slugs through the motions.

Just fyi - Taylor Twellman is scheduled to be one of the guests on the Glenn Davis radio show in Houston tonight, 1/28.

The show streams live online at www.790thesportsanimal.com.

Podcasts are also usually available by the next day - click here for more info.

The show airs from 8:00 - 10:00 pm ET. Guests are usually in the second hour, and sometimes aren't able to make it as scheduled, but Glenn is pretty good about announcing the guests at the beginning of the show.
