    * No Altidore, Edu

    Bring out the knives

IMHO, with it being an international date, I expect we will possibly see Convey added so he can get some time on the left. Other than that, with the Euro's no one really knows. Regardless, No Altidore bothers me a lot. With Edu at least you can say, hey maybe we are going to see Bradley, Feilhaber and/or Clark so no reason to waste Edu's time. That being said, I would have preferred to see him against the better competition as we have already seen those three against good competition. There has to be some explanation regarding Altidore. Maybe he is in Madrid finalizing a deal?

Other theory is that they are part of U-23/Oly qualifier pool and part of that camp right now.

Nah....that theory is smart and makes way too much sense....

I think that Bob screwed Jozy.....again for his boy TNT.....

Let's keep that theory going for a while......

How many slots are open to Euro players with 21 mostly domestic on the list already?

    Lol now that's funny.

But yeah if you look Wynne and Sacha are missing from the roster as well so the logical explanation is the Olympic eligible guys are going to Florida to train with the rest of the U-23s.

Really no complaints about this roster its what I expected after reading Bob's interviews about who he was going to call, I'll expect to see about 4 Euros make the trip for the game.

Hopefully, one of them is named Freddy Adu or Clint Dempsey so we have some kind of attacking threat outside of Donovan.

Why do we have 8 defenders and 4 goalkeepers in a roster of 21 players?

It'll probably be fine once we call up some guys from the U23 camp and get some guys from Europe. Though I wonder how they're gonna scrimmage (if they plan on doing that) with that number of players.

At first I was shaking my head at this roster but the more I think about it the more these guys need to play against Mexico. It's a roster that full of inexperience and throwing them into fire against our toughest rival is a damn good way of seeing who can or can not cut it. It will be a blood bath as usual so I kinda like giving these guys a chance to show what they can do. I suspect that we will see the likes of Convey, M. Bradley, and Adu possibly added. I would of liked to of seen Altidore but I understand Olympic qualifying is starting soon and he's missed their previous training camp while being with the Senior team. He needs his work with the U-23's to gel with them. It sucks but I do understand the reason for his absence.

Hmmm... depending on how experimental a field Bradley chooses, Mexico could be looking at their first good chance for a win against the US in quite some time.

Fulham is in a relegation battle, so no Dempsey or Boca, Heerenveen (or however you spell it) could probably let Bradley off, Gooch could probably make it, as could Cherundolo, Gumby is out.... Convey? Feilhaber?

Any thoughts on which Euro's might be added to the roster?

Because it's the same roster as last time minus Klejstan, Altidore, Edu and Wynn -- which was a balanced 9 defenders and 4 goalkeepers in a roster of 25 players. Nit, nit, nit.....

The only real news here is that Bornstein is not healthy enough to be added and I guess won't play against Mexico.

As for Euros, I would expect most of the big guns. Most likely would be Bradley, Onyewu, Dolo, Adu, Spector and Convey. Fullham is in a tough battle, so maybe Bob Bradley won't call Dempsey, but I bet he does. Bocanegra might be excused and Johnson undoubtedly will be. I could see giving Howard a break since Guzan is available. Feilhaber and Pearce are free, so I expect them.

Repped. Thanks for the news. It would be good to see Jozy on the field. We need to give him as much first-team action as possible, and a high-pressure Mexico game would be just the ticket. (yes, I know its a friendly, but it is Mexico!)

You are failing to consider a number of serious possibilities, such as a highly-localized typhoon which kills all our defenders, or a half-time rule change allowing teams to field two keepers.

    How is that balanced?

There definitely should be more midfielders and forwards than defenders and keepers in a national team camp.

Is it too much to ask for this team to entertain me once in a while? If we're not going to win a World Cup, at least provide some excitement.

The camp is for BB to look at players. How many of the players in this camp end up on the game day roster is open to speculation. However he clearly, isn't going to have 8 defenders and 4 goalkeepers on his game day roster.

Hopefully Altidore and Adu do get the call up for this game despite being in the U23 camp a few days before. It'll be good experience for them to finally play in this match.

The SUB-23 players MUST be together, some of you don't give the Olympics that much importance. The young guys need this more then a Friendly agains MEXICO( I know its not that friendly). We know we are better then mexico head to head. If the Sub-23 does good in the Olympics, atleast medal, they will get a HUGE boost in confidence. The MLS players can handle it baby, a couple of Euro's and we are good.

I really think that the 4 that are in U23 camp will join the full team in Houston.

First off- this is a rivalry! this is the biggest football match being played on this FIFA date! Bob needs to call in our best players, period, end of story! other national teams do it why wont we? Nothing means more to me than whooping mexico's ass not beeting totenham as an arsenal fan and not even beating dallas as a houston fan, which might change if they ever beat us. that being said i have very expensive, overly priced tickets for this game and i want to see OUR best US National team take on mexico's talented squad. lord knows if altidore and adu play it will be there coming out party gaurunteed!
