The bigger mystery to me is why 4 of the top ten are in the same 3rd round group for World Cup Qualifying. This Guarantees that two of the top 10 won't make it to the last ten.

That is the "masterpiece" made by those stupid AFC guys.

A full strength Australia team playing at their capacity would soundly spank Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Just because of one embarassing cup campaign doesn't mean we are the worst team in Asia.

You can quote me on the game we play in Australia. You'll probably kill us again in Iraq.

If we played in Iraq then maybe, it's a real shame we aren't allowed to play home games for security reasons.

But yeah I highly doubt that even when playing your best you'd "spank" Saudi or Iraq.

Over-confident remarks!!! Seems like you are under estimating both the nations. Now, I sure wish to see Australia vs Saudi Arabia and Australia vs Iraq. It's pride involved now!!!....

Ah but we beat you in a friendly later that year with a second string side in Sydney 2-1.

We wouldn't be beaten either. Playing at our best at the world cup under Hiddink, we virtually sat on Japan in a 15 minute phase and were all over Italy until a last minute penalty sent us packing. If we can beat Japan, we can beat Saudi Arabia.

beat us with a second string, u think we were playing with our first team, no nashat, younis and god knows how many more. also, why do u think australia is the best in asia, its the same cockiness that got u out of the asian cup. remember the score 3-1, aint that good. wait till after the WCQ , Iraq - Australia, if u beat us then talk, but i highly doubt u will.

You are kidding right? we played with our League Players + 5 players from A team, most of those players won their real international match, we didn't have any clue who they are before this match and thank to you they became famous to us. yet some of them (if not 90%) don't deserve to play for the NT, one of them, the one who scored against you, His name is Mohammed Nassir. at first we said wow he is the one, then he turned to be a very average player.

    Iraq squad
    Sarmed Rasheed
    Haidar Abdul-Amir
    Ahmed Kadhim
    Haidar Abdul-Razzaq
    Yassir Raad,
    Haitham Kadhim (Muayad Khalid 62')
    Wisam Zaki
    Nashat Akram
    Hawar Mulla-Mohammed
    Mahdi Karim (Safwan Abdul-Ghani 86'),
    Mohammed Nassir (Ali Jaber 80')

    Bold = A team players

    Australia squad
    Schwarzer
    Lucas Neill
    Tony Popovic
    Craig Moore [c]
    Stan Lazaridis (Tony Vidmar 46')
    Josip Skoko
    Mark Bresciano (Jon McKain 62')
    Tim Cahill (Jason Culina 72')
    Scott Chipperfield (Mile Sterjovski 62')
    Brett Emerton (Ahmad Elrich 72')
    John Aloisi.

Tell me which one isn't your A team player?

what exactly have you done? I didn't understand.

The Bold are A team players or not? because as I know Tony Popovic, Skoko, and John Aloisi were your A team players in the last few years.

Wow! You're a wanker. Why would we want to go back to the OFC for? We joined the AFC for a challenge and that's what we got at the Asian Cup instead of spanking the coconut islands 31-0 every international window. We knew it wouldn't be easy at the Asian Cup and we got tonked. And if we're losers, how come we were the only Asian team to get into the Round of 16 at the World Cup?:)

IRT Mussav: Harry Kewell would usually start ahead of John Aloisi, Vince Grella over Josip and Scott Chipperfield playing at the back allowing Brett Emerton to go foward. The best Aussie XI circa early 2005 would be on the lines of this:
    ---------------------------Schwarzer-----

    -----------Neill---------Moore------------Chipperfield

    ----------------Grella------------Culina--------

    Emerton--------------------------------------------Bresciano

    ------------------------Cahill-----------------------

    -----------------Viduka------Kewell

this team isn't that different to the one that got soundly beaten by iraq at asian cup. on current form iraq would have to be favourites and i dont see any reason why australia would spank iraq or saudis.. its a new world!!!
