I'm a newer fan, so my list is sort of skewed: (In no particular order and contains only players I have seen play in person) 1) Gomez 2) Moreno 3) Benny 4) Emilio 5) Fred 6) Kovalenko 7) Simms 8) Rimando 9) Perkins 10) Esky 11) BCarroll
I can't believe you forgot Captain Nelsen And I wish there were more than 11...The Big VA reminded me of Kovalenko...his fire and heart are missed. And Chico reminded me of Stewart. If only our guys had been sophisticated enough to understand the beauty of his runs that first season he was with us (although I'll admit it's not yet over, so maybe I'll regret having posted this). We have been blessed with so many fine players over the years...may that blessing continue. By the way...anyone watching our Redskins? Sweet, just sweet. Our guys ought to be watching to pick up pointers on how to win the ones that really count (although it's not over yet, so I may regret having posted this last thought). [edit] Never mind. It's over for the 'boys.

I did not forget him! There is no doubt that he was one of the biggest reasons DC United won the 2004 MLS Cup, but he was never one of my favorites, even though that is exactly how I try to play soccer. I also did not forget Stewart, who was another big reason why DC United won the 2004 MLS Cup, he was also a player I tried to be similar to in playing soccer. Others I did not forget, Sanneh, Rimando, Eskandarian, B. Carroll, Simms, Maessner, Kammler, etc... We are very lucky to have such a fine group of individual players who have played for DC United.
In no particular order, personal favorites: Olsen Esky Nelsen ABMOD Goose Moreno Perkins Gomez Maessner Harkes And tied for eleventh with cameo appearences: Curt Onolfo and Brian Bates asitis
You guys are all just a bunch of glory-hunters. Thor Lee (how could you guys forget the guy who scored DC's first goal?!) Said Fazlagic George Gelnovatch Brian Bates Lyle Yorks Trevor Perea Sergio Salas Danny Care Paul Marcoullier Robert Ssejjemba Kevin Ara
Nelsen Olsen Etch Jaime Gori Agoos Pope Llamosa Lassiter Maessner Petke with a tip of the hat to Rrrrrrrrichie Williams, Ben Iroha, and Gomito.
I think we're all agree here...who is cooler or more of a favorite/special than... Diablo Moreno Olsen No one has been more of a fan favorite over the years more than these 3 guys.
