I dont think we are that far away from the day when FIFA tells the Azcarraga family (as well as other owners from other countries) that they must sell off Necaxa and San Luis and only own ONE club. when that happens and we start having more sel sufficient clubs with independent owners.... copa mexico is nothing but a pipe dream
Upon reading the thread title, I thought to myself, Copa Maya would be a much more appropriate name than Copa Azteca. I prefer Copa Mexico though.
Supposedly, Azcarraga has proposed selling the two clubs but he has have no offers yet. I think Blatter has already mention disatisfacion with one owner having the clubs in the same confederation, so like you said, the day might not be too far away.
