Just realised I had completely disregarded that the UEFA coefficients were also used for the qualifying round.

Finally Toulouse facing Liverpool had a lot more to do with them not being a historical top French contender for Europe than anything to do with the value of the French League

What I find really stupid about the seeding system is the fact that a team like Tampere could end up seeded ahead of Fenerbache, Spartak Moska, Sparta Prague, AEK Athens on the simple fact of it beating a team that would've been seeded if it had qualified for the 3rd round (Levski sofia)

Yes, that rule was weird. I think it's because the draw took place before the end of the second qualifying round.
The bad UEFA coefficient of Toulouse will be also a problem in the UEFA Cup, we won't be seeded and we could draw teams like Bayern...

I would like to know if it is true that there are a player from Kiribati (John-Jack Dagland) and another from Palau (Ahn Juang Vlantintop) on the U21 Squad of Toulouse FC. Here is the article on Wikipedia:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toulouse_FC#U-21_Squad

But I check it on the web of the team and they don´t appear.

Arent you worried about your team, toulousain ? Near the bottom of the league and out of Europe. Seems like the bubble has finally burst. The only positive is that I read Elmander could sign an extension but I have my doubts about that happening.

If Toulouse beat Nancy in midweek, they'll have considerably less to worry about, but has anyone seen the injuries that TFC have?

Fabinho, Paulo Cesar, Congré, Cetto, Sirieix, Mathieu, Dao, Jönsson (in no particular order, this is off L'Equipe)

Congré, Cetto and Mathieu would definitely be starters in defense I think, so it explains a little how Bordeaux could score 4 against them. Fabinho has struggled with injury I think all season and is now injured again.

This does not excuse TFC's underperformance, but without those injuries, one has to believe they'd be doing much better.

I didnt realize they had so many injuries. I think they will finish in the 8-12 rage.

I had them finishing 8th at the beginning of the season, but then again, look how I thought then it would turn out.

    1. l'OL
    2. Bordeaux
    3. l'ASM
    4. PSG
    5. l'OM
    6. Rennes
    7. LOSC
    8. Toulouse

Yeah, half of those would be in the bottom half of the table at the moment.

Yes, I'm a little bit worried but the team have shown some progress against Bordeaux and Nancy, without winning though. It seems that they want to fight against this situation.
Of course it's a disappointment in comparison with the last season, but we have to be realistic and tell that we finished third luckily.

It looks likely that Sören Larsen from us (Schalke 04) will join you soon.

He´s a typical no-nonsense striker...Had bad luck with injuries the latest season but still popular with the fans.

He could be the successor of Elmander. A striker from Scandinavia...
