I forgot Monster Masch (how the hell did i do that)...id certainly play him ahead of Momo...unless we rest Masch for the important CL game against Porto as hes has been much better in Europe in more open games. Babel has shown that he is better on the right in a 4-4-2 as he needs to be in a 4-3-3 to be able to cut inside with greatest effect. Why do the wingers need to switch...only if they are struggling on that flank would they switch

Did Mach play for Argentina in their qualifiers? If so I'd expect him to be rested due to the travel.

    I'm expecting something like this;

    -----------------Reina-----------------
    Finnan-----Carra-------Agger-----Arbeloa
    Babel------Gerrard-----Sissoko-----Riise
    ------------Kuyt-------Torres----------

SUBS: Leiva, Voronin, Kewell, Hyypia, Itanje

    ---Finnan-------Carra-----Agger-------Riise---
    ----Babel-----------Masch---------Arbeloa----
    -----------Gerrard----------Kewell------------
    --------------------Torres--------------------

    In other words... ATTACK!

Having watched the England game I think Crouch will be tired after losing to Croatia. The mental and physical blow to Captain Gerrard may also be an issue. I hope not.

Newcastle will have Taylor and Owen out injured.

Torres is fresh and desperate to play and will start. Babel, Kuyt and Voronin all played abroad on Wednesday. Rafa will pick whomever he judges to be in best condition for this match. I expect Kewell to feature but not for 90 mins. Liverpool really need to win this as the other big teams have easy opposition this weekend.

They are hurting big time at the back -- they will put 10 in the box and try to ugly it up and hit us on the break with Martins. This calls for a bit of skill and patience. Torres and Voronin.

Kuyt and Babel came off the bench in the 2nd half and Voronin was subbed off at about 70 mins so dont worry they will be fine

Yeah but Kuyt and Babel were in Belarus and Voronin in the Ukraine last night/this morning and they have to be in Newcastle on Sat morning. That's the problem with early Saturday games away just after an International Week. There is little time in between all the travelling to do tactical sessions.

It's on at 4:45 AM. here on the left coast, 'fraid I'm likely to be late for the KO.

Nice thing about DVR is that it starts from the begining anytime you turn it on.

I'm a little gun shy after the international break though. Hopefully they'll come out with something to prove.

    really need a win here -- with Arsenal/Wigan, Derby/Chelski, Bolton/ManU

if we were to drop further behind, with our current crisis brewing, the media will get ruthless
