....like, hmmm, spilling our $15 chicken strips, fries and drink at the stadium, and picking them up and eating them anyway? And I'm not drunk, just poor and hungry.
It was so great seeing everyone this weekend. You all have no idea how much I needed that. What an incredible weekend, one that I don't think will be beaten for some time. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that many people would come out to Washington in orange. So exciting. And DynamoKat, you still need to change your name.
Sometimes I forget why I like you so much and then you go and say something like this and it all comes back to me, Mr. Sweater Vest. Actually, I've been chatting with the wife and we're considering scrapping it for Hawaii if it looks like that tourney's gonna make, or if not, make a trip to Mexico for the CCC.
Sam, How about you make a holiday Album/story book with your "Drunken pictures" (be sure to make your storyline interesting, don't want to keep chugging the bottle of jack if it boreds me to frustation). Send me a copy! lol I will be sure to share with the youngsters ..."Sam I am, the Holiday version" ...interesting
Does anybody have an estimate of how many Houston fans were there? I've heard Houston players talking about how surprised they were that there were so many. At first I was sort of afraid we wouldn't numbers, but by the time the game came around we had pretty much filled up our end of the stands, and there was a lot of orange in other parts of the stadium as well. I'm guessing off hand, there were a lot more fans there from Houston than New England fans in Dallas last year, right? It's funny, because in the stadium it seemed like we were way outnumbered, but the Revs fans disappeared outside the stadium. I never saw many going to or from RFK or walking around DC. Also, it was sort of hard to tell in the stadium because DC's and the Rev's uniforms sort of looked alike, at least from a distance.
From lurking around and asking, it seems like 500 in the TA/EB section, with probably another 300-500 in the stadium, scattered around. That does include friends and family of the team and organization, though, which were opposite you guys. Even if its off a bit, close to 1,000 road fans to DC is incredible.
At Christian's tailgate on Tuesday, I was asking OL if he was told the amount of Dynamo attendance and he said 2-3K. It seems a bit high, but of course, I wasn't looking in the upper sections of the stadiuim
There were a lot, and lots more from other parts of Texas. And I had heard about 1,000 fans, too, but I don't know where I hear that.
