Specifically, the Los Angeles area? are there any good Arse-friendly *not necessarily the West Hollywood kind :p * pubs around our area? would love to catch a match with fellow supporters one day.

The only one I know of is the Fox and the Hounds that the Fox Football Friday guys go to. No idea as to the location/proximity to the West Hollywood area, but it looks good from the pictures I've seen on their show. Also, if I recall, the owner or manager is a Gooner.

Yeah the Fox is the best pub around. And yes, the owner is a gooner.
It's in Studio City at Ventura and Vineland.

    This guy might know

    San Francisco Branch Office Manager

    Gary Jones - gjones@apr.com

I was born and raised in Highbury. I lived in the flats behind the Clock End and if my mum would not let me go to games because of bad weather, I could watch from my bedroom window.

My first game was a testimonial for Jack Kelsey against Glasgow Rangers 2-2 draw, I was six years old. Saw Bob Wilson's first game. Went to every game for fifteen years until we moved away, even then I went to as many games as I could.

    Arsenal is my passion.

I would say there are two pubs in LA that are very good.

    The Fox and Hounds
    11110 Ventura Blvd
    Studio City, CA 91604
    Phone: +1(818)763-7976
    www.thefoxandhounds.com

Also, the ********'NBull (if the software hear x's out the name its cee o cee kay and bull)
    2947 Lincoln Blvd.
    Phone: 310-399-9696

Fox is owned by Gary, a gooner. The CnB is owned by a couple of scousers. One is a LFC supporter, the other Everton but all supporters are wellcome and the atmosphere on big game days is great. More intensity in the air there than Fox, but Fox is very good and shows la Liga games. Both charge $10 for PPV EPL games. Some cup games, international games can be $20.

You can get to both fairly easily from west hollywood. Take the 101 over the hill to Studio city and exit at Vineland. Left off the exit to Ventura Bl and its about a block on the left hand side.
For CnB, take Santa Monica Bl or the 10 to Lincoln, make a left, and its a couple of miles down, go past Olympic, Pico and Ocean Park and its about a few hundred yards on the left.

Ok, it's been reduced to this. Grandparents don't have the same mobility as before, so Christmas this year is with them in Santa Barbara. Here's the problem. They don't get Setanta or FSC. While we're out there there's Tottenham home and Boxing Day. There is The Press Room on Ortega, but they don't let you in unless you're 21, and apparently even at 445am a 20 year old can't get in. So, anyone have ideas? Want to help another Gooner out over the Christmas period?

EDIT: Holy crap, I've brought a 3 year dead thread back to life. my apologies.

if you had started a new thread, Skizz probably would've searched, found this one, and then told you not to start new threads when there are already ones created :D

What I used to do while an undergrad in SLO 90 miles up the 101 from Santa Barbara was to drive down to the Crown and Anchor in Thousand Oaks. There really aren't any venues that show matches in Santa Barbara (sans Press Club) or San Luis Obispo counties.

The Crown and Anchor would be about an hour's drive from SB...it sucks not being let into the Press Room, but TO isn't too far away.

Give them a call but 4:45 am may even be too early for them:

    Crown & Anchor
2891 E Thousand Oaks Blvd, Thousand Oaks, CA
    (805) 497-0070

    Other suggestion.....download it later (torrents)?

Just found it on Google Earth. Only thing about the torrent is that it's dial-up out there. I know, that thing from the stone age:p
I have a buddy who's a Gooner in Valencia, and I could ask him, but even then, it would really be a matter of spending the night over there. Might be reduced to watching it from the door of the Press Room. No Santa Barbara gooners?!

There used to be one SB gooner here but that was a long time ago. I'd tell you to drive up to watch it with me at my parents' place in Arroyo Grande but they also don't have Setanta so it'll be a download for me.

Any supporters in the Long Beach area without Setanta who want to get a few in and enjoy the lads, say next weeks Champions League fixture ( They start at around 11am) drop me a line. The BPL games usually start at dawn or sooner so they're not very practical for guests.

Also the US plays Sweden at the Home Depot center on Jan.19 Should be crackin.

Starbucks uses T-mobile wifi and you have to log in (i.e. pay) to use it. :(
