random thoughts/stories on the 2nd best road trip in Dynamo history (sorry ladies that Pachuca CCC road-trip was bad-ass for the 20 people who went) #1) if you're just a regular Dynamo "civilian" fan, but haven't made a move to join TA or EB do it now. part of what's special about joining one of the groups is that we take care of each other. we where stacked minimum 4 deep in most hotel rooms. so if you barely had money for flight and food there were group members offering peeps their floor for free. come to the Mezzanine Lounge Nov. 30th for our TA End of Year Party. Introduce yourself. #2) if MetroAg tells you "i have your back if it the sht goes down" make sure there's not an empanada house near-by. jajajajajajajajajaja. don't worry bro i took care of it. TA travels with its own security detail. #3) quote of the trip: "my penis is taller than him and it has its own cape" #4) hotel swimming pools in DC are not open at 4am. #5) i love this team, i love this city but more importantly i can't stress enough how much i love TA & EB. seriously you're my brothers and sisters. #6) Barra Brava, Respect! *snaps fingers, Ali G style* you guys are fkn awesome. #7) Mannie G - for god's sake turn 21 already!!!!!! or if you're going to sneak into a bar at least do a better job of it culero. #8) most New England fans were nice, gracious. for you 3 that tried to start crap with 1 guy who was alone w/his girlfriend. shame on you. note to NER fans, TA & EB doesn't travel alone. there were 50 of us around the corner dumb-asses. #9) start planning on how you're going to tell your wife/girlfriend/husband/boyfriend that vacation this year is whatever caribbean country the Dynamo will draw in CCC. start saving money dummies. i started my 2010 WC South Africa fund when i stepped off the plane from Germany last year. #10) i love you guys.
I've been following the team but have been in Austin for most of the past 2 seasons. I'll be in Houston for pretty much every season from here on out (the summers at least). I just signed up on the Texian Army website and forums and look forward to meeting some of you.
i almost forgot. the german (schwabe) and the mexican (*rey*) had to resort to pan-handling in the subway to raise beer money. someone threw 15 cents at us.
I want to, but my school/work schedule sucks right now. I even missed the MLS Cup today, and the video highlights on the Dynamo site aren't working. Maybe I can work out a better school/work schedule next year and join you guys.
thanks to those who know who they are for helping a brother out... what did you expect from someone who works for THE MAN? you're kidding, right? what kind of Podunk town is this? I love you too, but you still suck for not getting to the Lincoln Monument on time...
The Kraut is back in H-town. Best road trip ever ( going to away Fussball games since 1976!) Had a great expierince with Barra Brava in the stadium, stood the last 15 min with them, waving my flag in the front row. Saw a couple of TA girls drunk on Sat evening ....lol they were funny Waiting in tyhe Metro tunnel for Rene/Metroag was great too , Rey and me asking people for money See y'all tomorrow at City Hall
Congratulations Houston Dynamo!! I took the trip from KC Friday for a 10 year remembrance of the 1997 game at RFK..... Returning home today.. but posted MLS CUP pictures of Houston victory and it's fans at http://www.pbase.com/sanoyes/mlscup_2007 Enjoy the championship and best of luck next year! Hope you get your own stadium soon.
I'd meant to mention last night that they still have 7-Elevens in Arlington, VA! After I got through writing last night, lots of places were closed around here, went out to the main road by the Marriott and saw an Exxon down by a CVS two blocks away, thought I could at least get a packaged sandwich there. Instead there was a 7-Eleven next door. So I just ran over there again to get a breakfast sandwich, who should I see but Brahmafutbol! We're everywhere, I tell you! About to head out for another bit of sightseeing before flying home tonight, something tells me I'm still going to see some orange around town...
Kraca +9 all made it home safe! Smoke almost killed me..., but i'm alive and kickin like rico! P.S. Rey you suck...how you gonna make plans and not show up?
I'm back. A great trip finished off with a great win! I did learn one lesson. Ordering two beers at a time (repeatedly) on Saturday night is probably not the best preparation for a Sunday morning tailgate and game. And the TA banners and flags made it home with me! I'll have the TA banner and the Houston Skyline banner at the rally on Tuesday night.
jajajajajajajajajajajajaja. i'm so tempted to post a thread (ala Whiskey Sam)....."Who Was That Girl On This Trip", but i don't want to die. at least no one threw up on me this time. sorry, please forgive me. i promise to make it up to you with a burnt hot-dog at the 1st tailgate next year.
It was 5 guys. Alone I could have taken any of those pendejos. I hope they give this twat his sombrero back.
btw, thanks Art V. & Mabeuf for Kegs & Eggs. it was killer. Art, we're reserving your spot on the Tailgate Committee if you ever move back to Texas.
Super Dynamo decided to make a home in D.C , he now resides in Adams Morgan park with the other Alcoholics... I will never ever get this sloshed again...Saturday was bitter sweet! How embarrassing, I cried in front of 2 + EB Members while searching franticly for my wallet inside the Angry Inch...I tumbled down the staircase as well. lol...To think about it...that is some funny sh*t. I started drinking again about 5am Saturday morning...and drank and drank...this shot was taken about 4:30pm or so... Met some interesting people while riding in the metro... I survived...YAY! And I am now in the airport, just waiting until my 12:30pm departure. Oh yeah my wallet was returned Sunday night at the Angry inch...no money inside at all, but I now can fly with my Texas D.L!
dammit. how did i miss you falling down the stairs!!! jajajajajajajaja. i hope your OK. jajajajajajajaja. can you re-enact at the Mezz on Nov 30th? jajajajajajaja. please! i forgot about another memorable quote: X: super dynamo is here? Y: how did get here Continental or Southwest? Z: neither, he literally "flew-in" land in a tree cuz he was so drunk.
I survived as far as Reagan, not the planes are backed up coming and going to DFW so we're delayed over an hour which makes changing for San Antonio problematic, but who cares, cause we're brining home THE CUP!!!!!!! And we're sitting here looking out at the capital building from one window and the Washington Memorial from another, so everything is wonderful. We should get to East Bernard by 10pm or so, after the 2 1/2 hour drive from San Antonio. But, it's all good, cause, we're bringing home THE CUP!!! Man we walked so much yesterday, we walked around RFK looking for the tailgate, then kicked the soccer ball around for an hour, then walked back and forth from RFK to the tailgate a couple of times, then back to the tailgate after the game, then to the metro, to the hotel, then to the metro, then to the White House, then to Burger King, then back to the White House and the Washington Memorial (all in the dark) then back to the metro and to the hotel. We could barely walk back to the metro, our legs seriously almost gave out, and it was freezing cold and sprinkling and windy. But, we saw the sites, and we're bringing home THE CUP. See yall tomorrow night at City Hall!!!!!!
Hey bro! Glad you got back okay. That dude that gave us a ride back across the Potomac was almost miraculous (sp.).
Good, that you got your wallet back + iIm glad, that you returned safe. At some moments I was very concerned about you
BAck! Good seeing everyone up there. Took some family from Arlington with me and were amazed at how great our fans are and our team! I told them we never stop dreaming, screaming, and believing for our team! They are now Dynamo fans
Offebacher, Dynamo Dave, The Wolf, Katom, Narangi and a buttload of others that flew out of BWI at 0650 this morning all arrived safe (tired, happy) back in H-Town this morning at 0900. Amazing, the "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" Roadtrip should have it's own commemorative T-Shirt. Thanks to Max and Art for the Tailgate, where the hell did that bottle of Jim Beam come from all of a sudden? Special thanks to the DC Folks and all their efforts and hospitality. Great Job. Last night was the quietest victory table I have ever seen, and if a Waitress ever tells you it is easier if everything is on one bill, she is lying. Dre is probably still there trying to figure out who owes what and what 18% of something is.
Came home last night and have been working on my school project. Procrastiantion sucks. Rode on the flight with O Luck and George from 5*. Luck was one of the few people who was not wearing Orange and we almost told him he could not board, because this was an ORANGE flight home. Got into Hobby at 10:45 and man, it is still sweet. I am still on the emotional high. I tried to explain the front row to people. Bandido standing on the ground, SD standing on the seat, Senor cool standing on the hand rails and Mabeuf standing on the back of the seat, until the first goal was scored and then all hell broke loose. It was the greatest moment of my life!
