Onstad continued to prove he could get the job done. The Canadian International keeper was solid in a 2-1 victory to take the MLS CUP for a second consecutive season with the Dynamo. He appears to have many years left in those old bones of his. But will he still get call-ups for the national team with the world cup being 3 years away?

We obsiously have Lars, that is playing at a high level with Rosenborg, but who else is on par with Pat?

Ya, let's see what the others bring to the table over the next few years. I've not seen enough of Lars in recent years but obviously his club has done very well with him between the posts.

It's Lars and Pat with others like Sutton (if healthy) and Kenny hoping to improve their standing.

... and as for those who like to disparage Pat with reference to his age, let's remember that some remarkable goaltenders have played into their forties including Lev Yashin, Pat Jennings, Peter Shilton, Dino Zoff, Peter Schmeichel and Neville Southall.

Nobody is saying that Pat is a Yashin, Jennings, Shilton, Zoff, Schmeichel or Southall but it does show that goalkeepers have long careers.

I'd bet that Pat has three more years in him.
