Okay, I'm starting a general news thread. This is for stuff that's not really important enough to start a brand new thread (such as the following story), rather than an important transfer or a re-worked contract. Just general stuff, good or bad. First off: Duff got nailed for going 102 in a 50, after he three times refused to confirm who was driving when it was caught on camera on the A1, including one time when he was ordered to appear at the magistrate's domain and never showed. Allardyce seeks Owen deal Sam Allardyce wants to convince Michael Owen to see out his career at Newcastle.
Emre issues apology for press attack Interesting that he's allegedly upset, at least in part, about reports linking him away from SJP. I still think he needs to go, however.
Luque only did it for the money. He doesn't sound very intelligent and for that he deserves everything he got on Tyneside.
The only reason I am posting this article is because of Sam's mention of Michael Ricketts. I looked up Michael Ricketts on Wikipedia and found this... Basically, he put Bolton into the Prem and then after he got called up for one game, BSA froze him out and the guy lost all his form.
Newcastle owner Mike Ashley could offer the club to David Sullivan for £220m. (News of the World) Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce is worried that foreign investment in the Premier League will lead to fewer English managers and hamper the FA's search for Steve McClaren's successor. (Sunday Telegraph)
I love how Joey Barton called out Owen yesterday on his England loyalties. Club honors are what matter Micheal.
Gary Speed will be offered a coaching role at Newcastle if he cannot sort out his differences with Bolton boss Sammy Lee. (Daily Mail)
i wouldnt be surprised and i wouldnt mind it. i think BS has a lot of respect for speed and to tell you the truth i thought he was done when he left nufc but he has proved me wrong...
The only way a player can survive that long in the Prem is if his knowledge of the game is higher than his physical talent ever was. To me, that makes him perfect for a coaching position.
Sam furious at fixture logjam Basically, we play three games this month, then three games next month. Then we have a stretch of 8 games in 36 days, plus only three days before a probable FA Cup tie on the end of that. Also, four fixtures have been changed:
Ives Galarcep is reporting the we had our chief scout watching EJ and Jozy this past weekend in the Meadowlands. _Too busy to link but head over to YA they have a thread going.
I'd take Jozy, but not EJ. Jozy's more powerful and built to handle the English game. EJ's just fast. On a somewhat related note, I wouldn't mind if our chief scout decided to head over to Heerenveen, if y'know what I'm getting at.
Coach Jr., of course. He'll be at a bigger club in a few years if he keeps progressing. I think he's got the mean streak necessary to handle the English game and he's obviously got game. (I wouldn't mind pilfering Barnetta from Leverkusen while we're at it, for the record).
YA is mind numbingly stupid. Oba, Owen, Shola are leaving in the winter transfer window and Viduka is too old to walk anymore so we need EJ right now.

There was a nice feature segment on Shay on the Premier League World show on FSC yesterday. It should run a couple more times today and tomorrow, and the piece is the last segment of the show.
Found this funny little bit in an article on EMO and NUFC on Foxsoccer.com: Apparently, Anal Oliver is now writing for Fox soccer as well...
Ashley reveals Newcastle had £100m debt Mike Ashley, the new owner of Newcastle United, has spoken publicly for the first time. Often portrayed as a recluse, Ashley took the opportunity to quash the recurring stories that Newcastle are for sale.
