would there be a possibility of pulling pearson back to LB and then putting dailly or robson into midfield...?

    gordon

    alexander -- weir -- mcmanus -- pearson

    fletcher -- dailly -- ferguson -- maloney

    mcfadden

    miller

    or...

    robson -- fletcher -- ferguson -- maloney

I would doubt it. I think the above is the confirmed team.

Georgia have started the better side but haven't had a real shot yet (that's what you get for letting Shota Arveladze retire!) while McFadden was inches away for Scotland after good work from Kenny 'Kenny' Miller.

Above all i'm portuguese but i've been somewhat supporting you to get to the final phase (and Russia as well after today's performance).
Do me a favour and shock Europe please.

well what an awful first 30 minutes that was.

a bit like the scotland of old. we were so poor in the first 30 until mcleish moved the midfield around.

pearson is god awful as a central midfielder. at least he looks ok out on the left. as to be expected fletcher doesn't look anywhere near match fit.

a terrible goal to lose. a good ball in but how does weir let a young 17yr old beat him to a near post ball...

mcfadden was denied a definite penalty. it looked like obstruction to start with but when you see the replay from behind the goal it's a stonewaller and worse still, the ref is standing 5yds behind.

finally, the pitch is terrible. but georgia are coping on it so that's no excuse. 15mins and it's still at 1-0 then boyd will be on for sure.

2-0 to georgia now and an absolutely piss poor performance.

the only player i have any sympathy for is darren fletcher as he's clearly nowhere near 100% fit.

i thought we had strength in depth but from this performance and impending result it wouldn't appear so.

the midfield has been non existent and the majority of players have played the game as if they were a fart in a trance.

good ball to the back post and beattie should have been trying to head it back across goal. instead he heads it harmlessly over the bar.

why am i not surprised...

I've just arrived at home ... and can't believe the result on www.livescore.com (David Siradze from the bottom team of the 2nd German league has just scored the 2:0 for Georgia)!

Can't believe to see you throw so easily away this great opportunity...

mcfadden had a chance on 78mins but was stretching and couldn't get anything on it.

10 to go and even a draw looks beyond us at this point.

Siradze scored the tying goal for Georgia against Ukraine a month ago (in 89th minute). I am sure that will make some higher level clubs interested, don't you think?

On the overall glance, come on guys, you're making US look bad!

    2-0 FT

    abysmal tonight.

i know we've played extremely well over this qualifying campaign so far but just judging this performance tonight it was painful to watch.

we were stretched squad wise and it shows that we're not as strong as i thought we were. players like maloney and pearson and murty are a big drop off from brown, mcculloch and hutton.

now we have to beat the world champions rather than tie with them which is more beneficial towards italy who can now sit back and wait for us to go onto them. which will release space for them to counter attack into.

ah well, at least we still have a fighting chance which is more than most would have hoped for when the draw was originally made.

You already did better than Ukraine, as evidenced by the fact that you have got more points than we will be able to finish with... Both Ukraine and Scotland were dealt a very tough draw...
