Dear Neighbours, please beat our team 15-0 so we can get rid of coach Hickersberger! ;)
I can't stand the idea of him coaching our team at the EC 2008... :(

But somewhat I suspect the result ist arranged like last time (2-1 victory for Austria)...

well, the Euro is getting closer, so the matches have become a bit more serious

the players who will play against Austria and the US will fight for a place in the squad

the U-21 probably will get Gelson and Ziegler, so both of them probably won't be in the Swiss squad unfortunately

    Re: Switzerland vs. Austria

Behrami (injured), D. Degen, Eggimann and Huggel have been withdrawn from the squad.

Why the hell did Kuhn withdraw Eggimann who has been terrific in the start his first Bundesliga season?! Grichting is not even starting every game with Auxerre...

With Vailati in the squad Kuhn is definitely sending out a strong warning to Benaglio, Coltorti and Zubi. Not sure if the warning will work though...

    Re: Switzerland vs. Austria

Grichting just came back from injury and is in the starting XI for Auxerre since he is back

tough, I also would prefer to see Eggimann to Grichting and/or Von Bergen

Frei and Ph. Degen have also been withdrawn. As it stands we only have 17 field players for the next two games. I for one like to see Abdi called up.

    Re: Switzerland vs. Austria

Alain Nef is injured as well, so it looks like no additional right defender is called up

Really don't understand what Köbi is doing. I understand why he doesn't call up any U21 players since they got important qualification games (I even think he could've left Gelson to them) but why on earth doesn't he call back Eggimann? OK, we got a lot of centre halfs but Mario has been one of our best players on club level so far this season, I don't think it's right leaving him behind.

I wonder if Florian Stahel would've gotten the chance had he not been injured, he's been very good for FCZ this season. Also, speaking about another injured right back, is Sutter's NT decision final?

I agree with you, on top of it, a guy like Eggimann is a defender that scores and he is the captain of his team!

I also think that it's bs that Gygax didn't get a call back since Frei is injured. Regardless, I still haven't changed my opinion, I strongly believe that Gygax is a player we need.

    Re: Switzerland vs. Austria

    3:1 victory, but poor defending

very strong Barnetta and Streller showing confidence again

    Yakin better than Margairaz tonight...

for the rest why is Senderos only playing well alongside Müller?

I attended this one last night at the new Letzigrund. It's a nice stadium but simply not a football ground and can not be a long-term solution for GC and FCZ. It was good to see us win and get revenge for last year but our defending worried me. I hope we do better in that department on Wednesday (I will also be in Basel)

PS: Damn that was cold, have I grown weak in Dubai?
