As far as I can tell, this thread isn't in the Boca section

And I'm sure that Palermo is the kind of guy to throw away a title against Estudiantes, I mean, he'd never go on to score, oh I don't know, FOUR goals against his former club (Or was it three?)

The gols were given to him if he missed them he deserved to get shoot and not only that it was revenge for boca after we lost and he damn well make sure he does his best to make them. Anything related to Boca should be hands off for you chickens.

Oh a Final for a Championship can be compared to a normal tournament game huh pelotudo. so what if he actually played good in that game when we needed him most he wasnt there.

Isn't it funny that in the last two tournments in argentina Boca was second place in both of them, Meaning we have a better chance than any other team of winning it.

to think that at one time 66% of Bosteros thought Marioni should be a starter. He sucked. Muerto de mierd.......

Looks like we got more confidence kicking banfields ass, I hope we win 8-0 at the end of the game, first half 44 min 4-0 Boca is ahead.

We will win the Tournament at this pace.

With bullshit goals like the first one, I don't see why not.

The first goal was just fine. The only debatable thing was the second PK on Gracian and it was irrelevant because the game was already won.

Dude, Palermo's elbow went into Lucchetti's grill. How is that not a foul on him?? He clearly made contact with the goalkeeper.

It wasn't intentional though. And the keeper was already beat in the air. Even the commentators agreed that it was fine.

wait what, from what i remeber they called it polemic. not just that but banfield score one that was even less like a foul and it gets called a foul, im not going to go on cause banfield just layed over but ref was a bit bad in the game, then again i didnt see the highlights but supposedly the refs did us a favor (to get us back for the games they screwed us over on)

The commentators at the live feed are limited to a couple reps of the play ... but want you to tune in to Futbol de 1ra and the other shows.

Most peeps reviewing the 1st goal in the Footie shows argued it was just fine, no foul. Including most ex-refs that work for TV.

Palermo's 2nd should had been voided. Yet, 80+% of the ball had crossed the line. A tuff call from such a distance. The margin of mistake is very narrow.

The 6th goal had no need be called a pk. But that is what the ref saw ...

As to the favs ... Independiente has an edge as they don't play the Sudamericana. But River and Boca both have strong teams, with depth. Among those 3 and a bit further, Velez, should the fight be between.

It's going to be close. I think the key wil be how they do against a disappointing River Plate team in the up and coming derby.

Hey guys...i'm new. I'm a passionate english football fan who supports the greatest club in the world ARSENAL based in London.

I am trying find out more information about Argentinian football. Got a question, other than Boca and River, who are the other big clubs in Argentina in terms of size of supporters, money, history and number of trophies.

    Peace!

Right after Boca and River it's:

    Independiente
    San Lorenzo
    Racing
    Velez Sarsfield
    Estudiantes L.P.

That's the order in terms of local championships won.

Independiente also has 7 Copa Libertadores more than any other club. Racing, Estudiantes and Velez have all won the Libertadores as well.

In terms of supporters I'd say Independiente has the most right after Boca and River. The rest are pretty much even imo.

    asto:

    Boca
    River
    Independiente
    San Lorenzo
    Racing
    Velez Sarsfield
    Estudiantes

    as Dr Know said

also Argentinos has won the Copa Libertadores once

As for popularity, Newell's, rosario and gimnasia would be up there along with Huracan. Huracan is traditionally the '6th' big team, but they have been very bad lately and have spent a good amount of time in the second division

Cheers Dr Know and Bosterosoy. Much appreciated. Definitely given me a better idea about the size of the clubs.

Who do you think is gonna win in the superclasico? You think that River can rise to the occasion in front of their own fans?
