    Momo is having a nightmare

Gerrard just earned a YC covering for him

    ugh

and the Ref is letting a lot of physical play go on (not complaining)

Nearly a goal for Marseille, but offside flag was up.

The ref is letting a lot go (besides the yellow for Gerrard.)

Ugh, the rotation policy strikes again. 2 quality left midfielders on the bench, while Leto looks lost out there. Is an important CL game such as this one really the best time to blood the youngster?

Our touches have been shit today. It almost seems as if the players are taking their control of the ball and Marseille a little too lightly. Our midfield is getting beat to the ball and our set pieces are piss poor. Not a big fan of the Gerrard-Momo pairing in the center of the field.

Alright I am done being pessimistic.

We look out of sorts out there. I have yet to see a meaningful attack and the passing has been sub-par. Shake things up at halftime please.

Poor first half to say the least. Marseille were really pushing for one at the end of the half. Just overall poor passing, terrible touches all around.

Sad sad performance. Marseille certainly got the better of us so far. Ziani is controlling the midfield and Stevie and Momo can't seem to find their footing. Leto has been aweful, he needs to come out. Bennayoun hasn't been very impressive either. Aurelio leaves too much space when he moves up and is a defensive liability. Heck, no one has been impressive. Torres and Crouch are rarely getting the ball and when they do the wet pitch makes it hard for them to control.

I hope Rafa brings on Kuyt, we need something connecting our midfield and attack.

Do Liverpool always waste possession like this? I don't know of any club of this quality that hits aimless long balls so often.

probably one of the ugliest and most horrific firsts halves I've seen,

we have no clue out there. Gerrard is either still injured or asleep. He's been incredibly ineffective. We've also had some first touches worthy of MLS.

PAGING THE BEST MIDFIELD IN THE WORLD

can't understand why our touch and passing is crap, but, OM aren't having much of a problem

Rafa will probably wait, but, I'd like to see Babel and Masch to start the second half -- we can't screw around with three points today

though Kuyt and Voronin have been warming up (?)

if marseille can manage a draw (or incredibly, a win) then i think it will be a turning point for the team and their new coach. he's actually seemed to have a bit of a calming effect on the players. they seem more relaxed and free-flowing in their play so far.

We can't afford to drop points again, especially not at home. Going to Turkey will be very difficult and I'd hate to go in the first three group stage games without a victory.

I think if the players just take better touches their confidence will go up. Crouch has to stop trying to do crazy flick ons (he's not Ronaldinho), Torres has to keep the ball at his feet (this isn't the Derby defense), and there needs to be a shake up in the midfield. The four there right now are not doing anything good. Good thing we have Carra and Reina because without them we would be aimless and probably down in this match.

That would definitely be bad and leave us in a must-win position.
