We've had season seats for three years now and I just noticed the ticket trade option last month when a buddy of mine did it. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me but it's pretty cool. Next year it would be pretty cool to have all home SuperLiga games (if invited) and all home US cup games included somehow which is a crazy thought because of all the variables but hey it's a wishlist and means another opportunity to eat prawns.
Correct me if you have different info Kevin but I think we'll be lucky to draw over 10k for the US Open Cup final. I'll be suprised if we get over 8k.

thats why a ticket exchange would create a better atmosphere. but I also see where the FO is coming from. They need to make money from this game due to pony-ing up the extra money in order to host this game, and I think they are banking on the season ticket holders willingness to pay a small amount, around 20 dollars, to see this game anyways

Frankly, on this one, it is up to you guys as well as us. It certainly is a challenge. But as you saw from the email from Hitch, EVERYONE has to do their bit.

Let me give you an example of how I think of things. Every single person I sell a ticket to is another voice in the stadium supporting my team. Each one is another bit of a collective whole that adds to the atmosphere in the stadium and hopefully adds to the sense of the team that the crowd is behind them.

    So.

If you're a fan of the team, consider helping out. Think of it as this is the one time to come make a difference - where YOU can help influence the match.

Traditionally, there are about 8k who are true-blue, die-hard FC Dallas fans who will come to a game that is on the schedule. Even a regular season mid-week game will have at least that.

We in the sales team and other parts of FCD usually bring in the remaining 6-8k through various means (selling to businesses, selling to soccer clubs and associations, etc.)

We're going to do everything we can to bring our 6-8k and we're putting together some really aggressive efforts and plans.

But getting that remaining 4-6k has to come from things like marketing, walk up and grass-roots stuff. The grassroots stuff is you guys.

And if even half of that original 8k I mentioned above brings just one person each, you have a minimum of 12k in the stadium even if the sales team's efforts fall completely flat - which they won't. I'm not going to speculate as to how well we're going to do, but suffice to say this is a major priority for our organization.

If everyone associated with FCD - both inside and surrounding the organization - makes the most of this opportunity, we'll have a solid crowd for the boys.

So as Hitch said in his email, make this your time to contribute. Make this your time to get out there and spread the word. Take the flier I've posted here and put it up at work. Share it with your friends. Take it to the places you go eat. Be proud that your team is playing for a championships and invite everyone to come see FC Dallas fight for a champsionship!

I don't know the specifics, but it would make sense to me that the decision might have been between allowing exchanges at regular ticket prices ($16-$45) or charging a competitive price ($9-$20) and not allowing exchanges.

So is this the pre-game thread for 9/15? Or is any hating on Adam Cristman applied only to the 10/3 match? I'll dig deep and see what I can come up with depending on the answer. :D

I guess 9/15 will provide some good insight into 10/3, or it won't. And it could be the same result on 10/3, or not.

    Other points to ponder:

+ What about that one play last time when NE totally got away with a cheap foul that the ref didn't notice? Hello, tugging the jersey from behind, what's not to whistle?!

+ I have it on good authority that someone will in fact be GKing for FCD. No word yet on NEs roster moves.

+ I called Vegas to get the line on "time measured in milliseconds when Houston fans declare that the USOC is utterly meaningless after an FCD win" and I think they hung up on me. Anyone else wanna try?

(confused look)What? I didn't sell any tickets to Rev fans. I have no idea what you're talking about.

Oh, yes, we are sold out tonight. So sorry. Guess you won't be able to see your team play in the final.

    ;)

    jk, of course.

Actually, from a big picture point of view, I think The Inferno and the other FCD fans are more into it when there is opposing fans in-stadium, so even selling to you guys means amping up my guys.

(Don't you just love arguing with a lawyer?)

Got my tickets in the mail Saturday evidently, as they were waiting for me at the office this morning.

I don't give a shit if there's 20k or 2k for this one - I'm pumped and can't wait to see us playing for silverware.

    Come on, boys!

What people? It's not like there were thousands of people holding off on buying until the inevitable sale price came out. They are just trying to sell SOME tickets....ANY tickets.

I did the same, ordered them after seattle, got them a few days later.

When you have zero marketing, isn't demand kind of ineslastic the closer you get to kickoff? Or maybe that is just in sold out stadiums...

what are you talking about oman? don't you remember the FO's inspiring speech about how the fans need to be taking the lead in filling the stadium? have you not been marketing your friends and neighbors? have you not placed a billboard in your yard? just remember, according to the FO, if the seats aren't filled it's the fault of the long-suffering, dedicated fans such as yourself - not the lack of marketing.
